My oldest child takes piano, she practices (almost daily) with encouragement ( :
I have some baggage concerning this however, when I was her age my mother also wanted me to play piano, I even took some lessons, but I just wasn't interested-I had better things to do. Well guess what hindsight is always 20/20 right, I wish I had stuck with the lessons. I do tell my daughter this "keep it up, you will be thankful one day" I wonder if she believes me! Hopefully so.

We chanced upon a rehearsal at Trinity Church in New York City. I grew up in a small Ohio farm town. I can tell you that choir practice at the local Methodist church was nothing like this.

With Covid-19 looming over us, social distancing has become an essential in our daily lives!
my home practice isn't what it should be, but I blame this on the fact that the mat gets so crowded.
The older juvenile doing some landing practice....below I have posted two shots of another practice session taken at quite a further distance....one of the juveniles decided that the other juvenile would be a good landing spot! It actually tried to land on the other's back twice and then gave up!

The two young loons are practicing flight. Did not takeoff yet but sure to make it soon.
They catch small fish already but still depend on parents to feed them.
Early this morning I’ve been out on the lake on my canoe, before sunrise, watching for the loons. When the wind picked up I was positioning myself to be in the flight pass. Loons take off against the wind to increase lift. While adults take off very fast with little notice, the young one stretches his wings for quite a few seconds, in a ready position, before he start his slow ran. In his third or fourth try he almost took off. I think they will fly very soon. I’ll be out there watching for them.
I’ve got a cousin who married an Italian, Emilio. They recently announced they’re expecting and came back to the States for a baby shower. While here, they took the time to come over for dinner where the expectant father practiced being a dad. From the looks of it, he’s got a knack for it.

I’ll all but concluded I’ll be selling my lightly-used Fuji X100 to make way for the Sony RX100 I bought. The reason is almost entirely a size issue. This was shot with the Fuji, and makes me wonder if I made the right choice! The camera’s extra large sensor and fast f/2.0 lens allowed for great low-light shots and shallow dof.
