Hopefully with more practice I’ll become close to that feminine image I wish to achieve! Loving this time as Michaela!

It's morning and the horses are getting their daily exercise at the Tioga Downs harness racing track.

I was waiting for M301 to get moving after getting stopped at Torlea for an intermodal train. Almost aborted the trip right then but I saw this old grain drill in a field and thought it would make a neat foreground. Ended up with an eastbound train to practice with. I spent an hour waiting for 301 here.

I had fun with this one. Found some good natural light, did my patented spin and click, and just let what happened happen. Had too many favorites to pick just 1. ;)

I sit next to her and listen to her practice. Next time I must remember to tell her that it is one of my favorite things to do. She is typical of a girl her age, reluctant to get practicing, but once she does, she enjoys it. I can see that it is an outlet for her. It touches a part of her that makes her carefree and happy. It touches the same part of me to sit and listen. We are made to make music.

Taken from Twin Peaks in San Francisco this evening. I took this shot after I had packed up my 4x5 film camera... It was the very first time I shot with my Shen Hao TZ45-IIB! I shot two plates, but I get the feeling that I screwed up on something... I'm not entirely clear how the Bulb setting on the shutter works on my lens, a Fujinon W 210mm lens. I think I'm gonna need more practice with the 4x5 before I head out next time. There are so many steps in my mental checklist that it's easy to miss something. However, it was way cool looking through the ground glass with a magnifying loupe... I just hope that amazing detail makes it onto the film! (With how busy I am, it might be a few months before I get this film developed!)

I've taken many photos of people leaving the tree platform on the zipline. This woman seemed happy to be the subject of my lens as she prepared to zip. But I wasn't ready for what she did next. She launched from the platform with a mid-air tumble!

It turns out that she and the man behind her were doing maintenance on the course. They've had plenty of practice!
