It's morning and the horses are getting their daily exercise at the Tioga Downs harness racing track.
Sarah tries out my Taurus .44 magnum at the Matanuska Indoor Firing Range. She handles it very well inspite of the firearm's strong kick. Sarah enjoys target practice and accuracy shooting and is not a hunter.
Practicing my microscopy technique this morning on this juvenile springtail, which I think is Isotoma spp (three teeth on mucro)?
I tried on a few wedding dresses one day just to see if I would make an acceptable bride...jury is still out
I was waiting for M301 to get moving after getting stopped at Torlea for an intermodal train. Almost aborted the trip right then but I saw this old grain drill in a field and thought it would make a neat foreground. Ended up with an eastbound train to practice with. I spent an hour waiting for 301 here.

I had fun with this one. Found some good natural light, did my patented spin and click, and just let what happened happen. Had too many favorites to pick just 1. ;)

I sit next to her and listen to her practice. Next time I must remember to tell her that it is one of my favorite things to do. She is typical of a girl her age, reluctant to get practicing, but once she does, she enjoys it. I can see that it is an outlet for her. It touches a part of her that makes her carefree and happy. It touches the same part of me to sit and listen. We are made to make music.

Painting inspired by "Four Fragments" some paragraphs written by the poet José Ángel Valente for the painter Antoni Tàpies.
"The state of creation is equal to the wu-wei in the practice of Tao: state of no action, no interference, of supreme attention to the movements of the universe and to the breathing of matter. Only in this state of retraction does form come, not as something imposed on matter, but as its natural epiphany "

Taken last week over in Peoria. There are four of these guys and gals running around. This was taken in the late afternoon on a sunny day, but there was some decent shade in the tiger area.
