got out the light painting gear tonight to do a little practicing; I had wanted to incorporate some domes into a model shoot I'm doing tomorrow, but I'd forgotten how quick you need to be with these things... maybe I'll 'shop the domes into the final images :p

we used 2 flashes to take these pictures, one flash was on the camera pointed up towards the ceiling to bounce off, the other flash was on a tripod with a soft box on. we are learning a lot which is very exciting.
camera setting was altered in manual for each shot, and power of both flashes were reduced.

So here I am, I know, I've been gone for what seems like a long time. That's mostly because, well, I have been. School started up again after three weeks of none and while that's nice, I'm still trying to figure out what classes I'm taking for my last year of school. My life is insane and there is so much changing around and with me.
Life is a roller coaster and an adventure, while it sucks at times, its actually lots of fun if you just look at it. A lot of times people practice conversations, don't say "No we don't!" 'cause everyone had done it at least once!
Well practice can make perfect, but not always. We can practice conversations over and over again and it still won't go that way. It's weird how that works, how we feel that if we practice our conversations in our heads or out loud with ourselves we will know exactly what to say, when to say it, and how to say it. It never works out that way.
Instead God throws us a curve ball and we have to think on our feet. We can still use some of those things that we have thought of, but probably not the same way we did before. It's good for us though, we learn to count on Him to have us say the right thing and protect what comes out of our mouths. We count on Him to hold us together as if we are about to fall to a million pieces.
So I took this picture and I had a million things going through my mind, and one of my first thoughts was a bathroom shot, but not the typical one where you can see the person in the mirror, instead I wanted the hands and the body. I have tough hands that show my veins a lot. It's a different view on a "normal" shot.
I like to take what can be a common picture and show it in a different view because you can take the same picture a million times, but in different angles and the whole things will change. Just like in life, you can be stuck in a situation and if you just look at it ever so slightly different the whole things changes. Satan has this nasty way of playing tricks and telling us lies and we believe them, instead of talking to God about it or looking at things differently.
Something that I have forever struggled with is weight, I know I am healthy and that nothing is wrong with me. I'm not fat, not chubby, I have a lot of muscle, I don't need to be skinnier, but still, there are days where I can't stand it and everything I put on doesn't look good on me or I feel gross in and like I need to cover up. Then I remember that I am just perfect the way I am and that I do not need to loose weight so I shouldn't work out to loose weight, but to stay healthy and in shape. Don't let satan tell you lies, don't let him win, he doesn't own you and God makes you stronger then satans hold.
