Plowed snow evolves into all kinds of shapes. Followed by the melting and refreezing, a glaze and filigree forms on the upper surface and edges. Add to it, the afternoon sun, which is always a gift, you have nature's abstract sculpture.

In the small village of Tintagel is a 14th-century stone house, built to the plan of a medieval manor house. It is called "The Old Post Office", The name dates from the Victorian period when it briefly held a licence to be the letter receiving station for the district. The National Trust has restored it to this condition. It was among the early acquisitions of the Trust (1903)

Again, no long description. Like 'Open Water,' this is in the same style somewhat in addition to location. I'm also quite tired from all that writing and should save it for more significant photos anyway =P

Directly in front of the new entrance to LACMA on Wilshire Boulevard is Chris Burden's Urban Light , an orderly, multi-tiered installation of 202 antique cast-iron lampposts from various cities in and around the Los Angeles area. The lamp posts are functional, turn on in the evening, and are powered by solar panels on the roof of the Grand Entrance.

What an afternoon! We did a lovely circular drive around the Lake District, and luckily I chose to do it an anti-clockwise direction. Our last stop was Derwentwater (at Keswick) where there was a glorious low-hanging mist - had we gone there first, earlier in the day, we would've seen nothing, as the town had been covered in thick fog which only lifted as the sun began to set.
Todays challenge for PHotochallenge.org was Vertical Lines, and here is my post for this theme.
being in the city Vertical lines were aplenty and took quite a few shot,s some others I may post later, but particularly liked the rusty crusty detail on these
