i have officially stopped my 365. i wasn't posting for a while simply because i didn't have time to get on the computer for uploads. but last weekend when i realized i'd forgotten to take a picture, it got me thinking that how lately when i've taken a picture, its just been because i felt like i had to. and thats not what i wanted it to be. also, at this point in my life, i don't have the time or equipment to truly do it justice.

i may continue it later, but i wasn't loving photography like i usually do. i'm going to post some of the pictures i took the past month that i actually liked, but my 365 has officially been put to rest. and i think its healthier for me.

this picture was taken last year, but i love it, and it also was fitting.

These are photos I’ve taken the past year and a half. It’s mostly stuff from local car meets, long exposures, exploring with b&w film and just all round shooting anything I like.

Not sure who posts newspapers.

Once a week, I fill my vitamin containers. Whatever could be interesting about vitamins or their container...until Slice of Life, that is.

MSH: this board has been scarred with an entire years worth of poster and notification posting. I dont know what they do with it, because usually when the bulletin boards get like this they take them down and put up new ones, but this is like a little kiosk thing. But anyway, it's pretty scarred with staples

This photo was taken at the Columbus Topiary Park just before sundown. These beautiful fall colors suggest that our summer is almost over.

nikon 50mm 1.8g ... awesome lens, really like it.

Posting to a journal

When the posting is no longer relevant, what is left is often more compelling than the post it self.

I've been wanting to learn how to use manual mode. I learned it once, years back, but I had no clue as to how to do it. First, I needed to learn how to turn off the flash on my new camera. Check! Then the difference between aperture and shutter speed....no check...yet! But my water bottle was on the kitchen counter, in front of this Greek calendar photo. I loved the light on the bottle, so, tah dah.....my first manual shot.

The one on the left is of most interest. A satellite map of the Mt. Rushmore area with a detailed typed description of the closed off area that a reasonable person wouldn't be able to comprehend, especially in view of the fact when actually on the ground it is almost impossible to know if you are in the forrest service area or the closure area as they are not clearly marked and only have sporadic signs nailed on trees here and there, so you don't really know. In the badlands the park has a fence between it and surrounding areas so you always know, but not here. I guess it looks good on paper here, but in practice walking about the area it's completely worthless info.

We decided to post our Christmas cards in as many different boxes as we could one day (and then some others another day)

I am guessing the Conquistador that flirted with the Governor's wife ended up on this rock....

Anticipating a need for housing for wildfire evacuees in Northern California, a shelter was set up at the Contra Costa Community College by Red Cross and college student volunteers from the Bay Area as well Red Crossers deployed from other states.

I am posting this looking for advice, as I have never before tried my hand at macro or close up. Where did I go wrong ?

...will Chaisy ever forgive me for posting this?

Yeah, don't see that too often.

Heh.
