I have a 1994 Civic DX with 155k on the engine. The engine runs great and consistently gets 30-40mph pending how much highway driving is done. The engine has no leaks and has been taken WELL care of since I have been the owner which has been since 2008*/- & @ 105k miles. I just replaced all the brakes with and calipers with Honda OEM parts, except the rotors and drum springs and cylinders but does have new drums. Engine is a 1.5L D15B7 and is a manual shift/transmission. Clean CO title. Chilton Manual included.

New:

Brakes

Radiator

head gasket installed 20k ago.

new exhaust

Clutch

The bad:

Rear defrost only works on about 3 lines.

No power steering

AC does not work but is attached

Needs new tires.

Needs new radio antenna.

Mirrors will not adjust but are positioned properly for me.

Body damage to rear shock tower. Nothing visible.

Asking $900 or best offer. SERIOUS CASH inquiries only.

If you have a clean, applicable Civic body/shell that just needs and engine and transmission, I MAY be interested because this thing runs so well and gets such good MPG!!

The Metropolitan Police, until around 1992, had a policy of posting new recruits over 6' tall to Cannon Row Police Station (Alpha Delta 'A' or Whitehall Division).

The main reason for this was to present an impressive image to the millions of tourists from around the world that visit the important tourist attractions such as The Houses of Parliament, Downing Street, Trafalgar Square, Buckingham Palace , Westminster Abbey etc. that are on Cannon Row's ground.

This picture is an example of the height of many Cannon Row Officers. The six Constables in the pall bearing team were all 6'6" or 6'7" tall.

The Great West door of Westminster Abbey and the staff had never experienced a problem quite like this one. The officers, plus the coffin and Sir Joseph's ceremonial headgear proved to be a bit too much to handle.

As can be seen the officers were required to crouch down in order to afford the coffin

free passage forward into the Abbey.

Due to the extreme weight of the lead coffin and Sir Joseph, who was a big man , the officers had rubber shoulder inserts in their No 1 ceremonial uniforms.

Posting old pictures

Silo N5, Montreal Old port... sweet mothership.

Today I am posting a few old pictures from years gone by that I didn't post at the time for whatever reason.

I took this one during the 2022 Northern California trip, and I liked the little compartments of individual action. I didn't post it at the time because I had about a half-dozen pictures of this beach that included the Golden Gate Bridge at that angle -- this one, this one, and this one, for instance -- and the light here was the worst of them all.

Fun Fact: That couple on the left was having "We're about to have a baby and are using our last little bit of free time on a photo shoot" pictures taken by a professional photographer just out of view to the left. Subtract the photographer, and it looks like a weird moment. That baby is just over two years old now.

I've been so busy lately that not only am I neglecting my Flickr chums but I've also missed Halloween. Bum.

Some lovely new 68p stamps commemorating the Battle of Trafalgar. They're a bit big, but very attractive. You can also see my digital scales and roll of address labels.

Posting today as I know I'll be too busy to do so tomorrow....

So HBW everyone!

Quite intrigued by this. I assume it to be some unofficial public art, but I've not been able to find out what it's all about. Seen on Hanover Square, Newcastle.

The Swan Hotel and Posting House in the 1880s. To its left is the Town Hall and to the left of that the general store owned by the Denny family. The Town pump in the foreground had been installed in 1873 and was Southwold's first municipal water supply but, by the time this photograph was taken, had already been supplanted by a piped water supply from the water tower on the Common.

Posting these a year late, amazing how much can change in a short time. After being denied entry into Lebanon, I went back to the UK for a couple of weeks. Everyone was surprised, the good ones pleasantly so.
