Another problem that those in poverty face are the poor schools that their kids are forced to go to due to their location. Most schools that are located in poor areas are surrounded by a fence and are normally very old, such as the one in this picture that is located downtown Greensboro. Why are fences a commonality among poor schools? Is it because of the increased crime rate among the poor and poverty stricken areas?
Juvelyn eats by candlelight because their unpaid electricity has been cut. This happens everytime her grandmother borrows the money to buy medicine for her stroke-stricken grandfather next door.
Muffin has not finished her antibiotics yet, she is a little improved but not much and very bad tempered and anti-social, hissing and spitting at everyone, especially her kittens, poor things. She has just had a blood test today to check her red and white cells and for peritonitis.
Her results for aids and leukemia were negative thankfully.
