We found this poor guy sleeping in the front room, completely drunk, during a party at my house. I actually don't even remember who he is, but we enjoyed ourselves dressing him with everything the we were able to find around.
This man is pushing his heavy load of garbidge, trying to make a living.

Don't know how long this poor thing was in the spa before we removed it, but I'm sure its muscles were quite sore after the workout. A fine looking lizard in great shape with a long tail. A real survivor for sure. I've id'd this as a Tiger Whiptail...please correct me if this is another lizard that you recognize. Thanks!!
my brother's car was rear-ended yesterday by some wanker. said wanker accelerated too fast too early at a red light, smashing into a pickup truck, and sending said truck forward into the back end of my brother's car, which he's only had for about a month. at least everybody's all right and the police are charging the wanker with reckless driving. RAH.
:'(
Taken with my 18-70mm lens at 70mm with my 50mm lens reversed and held at the end of the 70mm lens. The partial vignetting is due to me hand-holding the 50mm lens and not keeping it on straight.
Note that only the needle is in focus. The depth of field was about the width of the needle.
Antibiotics for 10 days, and something to help the itch, but she's miserable, and the flies are attracted to it, too, so more miserable outside than in, but she wants to be outside.
Buffy and Faith keep barking at her, too. It looks like Disa, but must be a demon! Don't be fooled!
Some punk kid was unloading his stuff in the car next to Jimmy's and this was the blue-ribbon parking job he did. The worst part was, the jerk saw us trying to get into Jimmy's car and didn't bother to fix this. Stoopid Maryland drivers.
Linux came back from the vet today.
He got his reproductive and scratching modules uninstalled, and a microchip upgrade.
He's dopey and sleepy and pitiful and cute.
This poor young Canada Goose was stranded in the same spot I had left it in after leaving it some food & water. I watched it for a while from my car on the other side of the river. A young girl came by who was touched by the plight of this injured goose. She sat down beside it & comforted it by stroking its back. The lady who lives on the street took bread & water over to the goose & explained to the girl that we were seeking help for it & in the meantime she would keep it safely in her backyard where it would be more protected & the girl could come & feed it. We hope to find someone to look at its injury & suggest options. I will sleep a bit better now, knowing that the goose is in a safer place & will get medical attention. I hope this has a happy ending.

Ollie always gets sort of freaked out by the baby for some reason - I think it is because now that Audrey is mobile he cannot really outrun her....at least inside.
a day at the zoo... the national zoo :)
(tho i can't blame you for assuming that's my whiny-weenie voice on this video, all commentary, excepting that of the tiger, is provided by the pack of small children that surrounded me)

I *think* these little figurines were used to advertise poor boxes. I've seen them in London churches, though none quite as cartoonish as this one. Maybe someone will set me right on this.
Some people just like to hit snakes. On the way down the mountain from Johnstown after practice, I spied two snakes side by side on the highway. I ended up turning around and going back up the mountain because I didn't know if they were alive or not —too late to get them out of such a dangerous place. This one was the bigger, about six feet long. I hate to see snakes meet their end this way. I kind of knew they were black rat snakes when I drove past but I was secretly hoping they were rattle snakes. What a shame.
