A couple of weeks ago the gosling lying down was freed from fishing line. Unfortunately a piece of the line was stuck in his leg. The poor thing was limping and could barely walk.
We were able to catch him en took him to a shelter. Hopefully he'll recover, so he can be reunited with this family.
Fingers crossed.

The Racetrack Playa, or The Racetrack, is a scenic dry lake feature with "sailing stones" that inscribe linear "racetrack" imprints. It is located above the northwestern side of Death Valley, in Death Valley National Park, Inyo County, California, U.S.A.

Thank you very much, Vladislav - it's great that you recognized it - it's really something for insiders - but when I saw this stone on the ice surface, Racetrack Playa immediately came to mind - which seems to me to be quite unreachable - you can pretty much forget about the Yuppi SUVs and the other options are ridiculously expensive...
And so I tried to implement my idea of the RT P in this picture - so that you don't see at first glance that it's the Eibsee :-)
Then the Barkley James Harvest song came to my mind: Poor Man's Moody Blues youtu.be/BpbSIyXXIOk
They have always been overshadowed by the Moody Blues... just like the Eibsee and this stone cannot be compared to the original racetrack...
You see, for me there were more personal thoughts behind it than you can only see on this photo :-)
I found this injured White Squirrel up high in a Beech tree.I really felt sorry for him as he has blood on his tail, shoulder ,ear, around his eye and I can see a cut near his mouth. I have no idea what happened to him. Whether he got in a scrap with another squirrel, a bird of prey attacked him, or someone's dog attacked him,I don't know.
I wish I could have helped him,but that was not possible. I took a few photos and decided to give him his space.

felt bad for this little guy, We had a pretty good hail storm today and this little guy was getting pelted but good.
A shot of one of the many large Ponderosa Pines that burned at the base and had to be cut down or simply fell down after the Wildfire went through this area. The red on the rocks in the BG is fire retardant that was dropped from aircraft.

In many parts of Africa, poverty is obvious. It is astonishing that people's zest for life does not end there. It is always nice to see the joy and friendliness that people bring to you. I will never forget this hearty laughter of the children.
In vielen Teilen Afrikas ist die Armut unübersehbar. Erstaunlich, dass die Lebensfreude der Menschen damit nicht endet. Es ist immer wieder schön zu sehen, welche Freude und Freundlichkeit einem entgegen gebracht wird. Ich werde niemals dieses herzhafte Lachen der Kinder vergessen.
This was shot through the windshield of the car and the camera had trouble focusing on something with these whiteout conditions. I decided the soft image added to the poor visibility in the scene. So I gave it an added aged look in the monochrome conversion and a bit of grain for Sliders Sunday.
Jamie was pouting and in a bad mood here. Our entire neighborhood lost power for several hours, so he had no TV or video games.
Then he got upset because I told him he couldn't play with the hose. Never mind that it was almost dark outside.
So, he went and stared out the window for a while.
