When we pre-ordered LittleBigPlanet 2 a few months ago, we ordered Sackboy and Sackgirl dolls for Violet. We gave them to her once the game arrived (January 18), and she had fun playing with them while we played the game.
Unfortunately, within about half-hour of her getting the dolls, poor Sackgirl's leg fell off. Violet is not a destructive kid; the doll was obviously poorly-made. Fortunately, it's not too late to return the doll to Amazon; hopefully I can get a replacement.
(UPDATE: Amazon refunded us the money no problem, so now we'll buy a new one! Violet only played with the doll for a little bit, but she still misses it.)
My one lone MH is going next month to get repainted -- I have her head off now because I'm going to reroot her in pink mohair. Also I'm crocheting her some dresses.

taken on bughunt#3 on the window of one of the hides at potteric carr, a ladybird had got stuck in a spiders web and the spider was having to get under its wings to bite it!
A sperm whale, approx. 45ft/13.7m long, beached at Redcar on 31/05/11. It was alive when it was found around 7am but sadly died around 9am despite rescuers trying to help. They had to wait to check if it was still breathing because whales can hold their breath for up to an hour. Experts said it looked malnourished, was likely young and shouldn't normally have been in such shallow waters. Marine biologists were due to arrive from London to examine it.
Update: tests confirmed that it was male and died of starvation. The jawbones have been buried in a secret location in the region while the natural oils seep out. They'll be put on display on Redcar seafront.

Update: the jawbones are now on display in the Zetland Lifeboat Museum on Redcar seafront.
A couple things:
1) If you cut up a week's worth of meat, put it in a pile and _then_ wrap it in saran wrap before tossing it in the fridge, you end up with one big piece of fozen meat. Then you have to steam it before you cook it all beacuse you're hungry and stupid.
2) My feet are conspiring to keep me from deadlifting or squatting. First, I kicked someone hard enough to nearly break my own foot (the right one, obviously not shown) and then I drop a weight on my toe. Doesn't quite look as bad as it does in person (for some reason the ol' A200 refuses to focus no matter how much non-flash light I throw on my doggie), but still much worse than it is. You can also see the calluses/scab from where I connect when I drop 'em like Crocop.
3) I'm going to tag this with "foot fetish" because i'm evil.

we got some bad news on tuesday... Luna is very sick, with chronic kidney failure. apparently it has been building up inside her for months, with no obvious symptoms until she got stressed out from thunderstorms last week. one kidney is shot and the other isn't in great shape, but it's doing all the work.
she's been in the doggie hospital being treated by specialists for the past two days, and will be there another two to four days, with an IV in her jugular vein giving her fluids and medications. the goal is to stabilize her system and see how well her body can deal with the disease. she'll have to have a lot of extra care to see her through. depending on how well she bounces back, she's got from 2 months to a year to live. we are heartbroken, but we believe she is tough enough to pull out of this and get back to as normal a life as possible. the vets and technicians that have been working with her all love her. what's not to love?
i took this picture of her while we were visiting with her today at the clinic. she was awake, but really groggy from all the stuff that is going on. they were able to disconnect her from her IV for a while so she could visit, but they have to leave the catheter in her neck so they can hook her back up.
please hold a good thought for Luna's recovery...
I couldn't leave her behind. I'll have to put her on a Stacey body until I find her a proper Tutti bod.
A quick, not very good IPad photo--Hannah won't let me near her. She had an unpleasant day at the vet. Removal of several teeth and two lumps--a small one on her head and a much bigger one on her front leg. She has stitches and staples and has to wear her cone for 10 days. The worst looking, however, is her nose--she hates being in her soft-sided carrier and presses hard against the webbing to try and escape, and then gets a huge gash on her nose. Even the vet was concerned. I'm hoping the biopsies will be benign.
My old PowerBook G4's SuperDrive is all screwed up. Over time, the case started to sag until I couldn't get a disc in or out of the drive, so I had to pry the slot open. Apple was kind enough to replace the top case under AppleCare, but not the bottom case. Unfortunately, the replacement top case didn't fit with the bottom case, so that's what created the opening in between...
i visited the "slums" of dubai... yes, they exist... concrete quality might be better and more organised, but the labour class that should be "heard (as they work hard doing the hard jobs) but not seen" eats food like this... it was very cheap, and rather yummy :)

Poor technique fails to consider the business users perspective and fails to observe direction of time
Me, about to mount my horse on the Carrousel at the Indianapolis Childrens Museum. Riding next to me was Yvonne, a lovely lady whom I met when she visited Austin in 2019. She had to return home to Indiana, but we talked about me visiting her, which I did in the fall of that year.
One of the largest pieces in the museum’s collection is the Carousel, located in the 4th (top) floor. The Carousel was first installed in 1917 at the Broad Ripple Park, in north Indianapolis. In 1956, the building that housed it collapsed and destroyed the rotating machinery, but most of the horses and other animals in the ride were left intact. The Children’s Museum acquired the animals in 1965 and restored the Carousel by 1975, to the delight and enjoyment of children and the occasional grown-up.
After visiting the Lew Wallace Study and Museum, I returned to Indianapolis, to connect with the friend I was visiting there. When planning my visit to the area, I discovered the Indianapolis Children's Museum, which boasts of being the world's biggest children's museum. Later, I was happy to find that my friend wanted to come with me to this place. We visited it on October 24, 2019.
This is my ghetto, last minute, Halloween costume. The shirt I wanted to wear with it hasn't come in the mail yet so I made due with my Bacardi shirt (yes, I bought it in Puerto Rico at the Bacardi headquarters) since it matched my hair clips. I didn't wear the wig since it needs a little work.
I wore this to Halloween Horror Nights and will wear it again on Halloween itself.

My bangs are currently too long to wear correctly for anime styles now so they look dumb XP
