Our dear *Pipoca* went to the vet today and the news aren't good. She was diagnosed with a genetic heart condition.
We're devastated mainly because she is so young, as only have 5 years old. :o(
Poor dear girl ! Now she've to take a lot of medicine...

A lily bush-cricket (Tylopsis lilifolia) contemplating a cicada exuvia. One of the most wonderful moments I have witnessed this summer.
You cannot imagine how beautiful they are, they are like ballet dancer. Amazing!
To see and catch more of it we took a boat ride in the lake. Then came the sad part, the behind story of the poor birds. The boat man informed us that there were five pelicans bought for the zoo ten years ago. But no shelter or other arrangements have been done till now, except these floating bamboos! Two of them has already died. The eggs of these are getting drowned for the whole time! In time of storms they are staying unsafe and homeless. The authority is planning to buy two more instead of making any arrangement for their safe existence.

The Poor Knights Islands are on the east coast of New Zealand. Named by Captain Cook, it is thought he named them as they look liked a Knight lying dead in the water. 90 second exposure
Poor unfortunate souls
In pain, in need
This one longing to be thinner
That one wants to get the girl
And do I help them?
Yes, indeed
Those poor unfortunate souls
So sad, so true
They come flocking to my cauldron
Crying, "Spells, Ursula, please!"
And I help them!
Yes I do
Here we have a picture of Ariel making a deal with the "Devil" (the Sea Witch Ursula) for pair of legs in exchange for her voice.
This camera was rescued by a friend of mine who had hoped to start shooting with it. Unfortunately it is pretty damaged from sitting around for so long and doesn't work. I decided to take it in as just something to sit on a shelf and keep it out of the trash.
Experimenting with a little freelensing. I think I first saw it done by the awesome Geneoh, and recently Cait has been tearing it up with the technique as well. Pretty satisfied with the results and really want to try it shooting with people.
Unlike those poor tomato vines back there. 😲
Please accept my apologies for my recent absence. I've been a bit depressed lately, mostly due to the crummy weather (Nothing unusual there, trust me), and I just haven't had the desire to do much of anything other than vegetate. But I had Daisy take the day off work today, in hopes of improving my mood. We'll see if it works...but so far so good! 💖
I hope you are all well, and in a better mood than me! 😉
By the way, this is a timer selfie Daisy took for me moments ago while I was getting ready to go to lunch with her. She does a pretty good job, doesn't she? I'll have her take a photo of yours truly later...I know better than to try to do it myself. 😘
I was so happy to be healthy enough to take new cat pictures.
After a 5 week absence there were so many new cute faces waiting for attention, love and pictures. And so many horrible stories, humans can be so cruel ...
Django is such a lovely boy and so brave. His former owner, a "hobby breeder" wanted him as a breed cat but he got "broke" because suffered from urinary stones. So his owner decided to abandon Django at the vet without treatment. What do you do with broken instuments? Throw them in the trash...
Luckily the cat aid organisation took care of him. Just one year old and so ill. He needed a very pricey operation where his penis got amputated to save his live. They spent hundreds of Euros for him and he was so thankful. He is such a lovely character that he kept even still when the vet placed a catheter :jawdrop: Now he lives at the cat shelter and he will find a new home pretty soon, that sure. So everytime you visit a "hobby breeder" keep in mind how many (now all) of them treat their cats. Adopt don't shop is the best way to help animals!!!

Hallo liebe Menschen,
Dein Django

Fallowing about a week of almost blizzard-like conditions, with relentless NE winds and drifting snow, we were told that it was going to warm up, but that some areas might experience freezing rain in the interim period. They were correct! This is what we woke up to see!
Poor little tree! First it gets almost buried in a snow drift and then along came freezing rain to cover it and weigh it down! (17-02-09-6563)
P.S. Feb 24 (a week later) and the ice/snow is gone except where the deepest drifts were.
This poor Yellow-Bellied Marmot Mom was very busy. Her babies were just beginning to explore areas outside of the den and she wasn't happy about it! She'd go and roll one baby into a ball and carry it in her mouth back to the den. As soon as one baby was safe inside, she would go collect another by which time the first baby was already back outside the den running around. Not sure where the male or other female was during this time...they didn't make an appearance until later on in the day leaving this poor girl alone with at least 8 active little explorers.
Is there anything sadder than a poor little Texas A&M Aggie Ring forced out into the rain at Starbucks on the Jersey Shore? No, I think not! It seems that they frown on cigar smoking in Starbucks and the poor little Aggie Ring was forced outside in the cold rain to enjoy himself. It’s heartbreaking I tell you. It’s enough to bring tears to a glass eye.
I told the Aggie Ring, “Well, you do shine well out in this light…” Aggie Ring replied, “It’s my job to shine!. It’s just another of the many burdens that an Aggie Ring must bear.”
Aggie Ring says, "Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it!"
We probably would have gone to bed before midnight, as we usually do, but JJ was out at his friends' house and we weren't sure what time he'd be coming home and also we knew fireworks would be going off around midnight. Our last two dogs, Sam and Lina, didn't have any problem with them, as long as they didn't make us jump, but Harbie hates them. We watched Sophie Ellis Bexter singing the new year in, but the fireworks locally started well before midnight, and Tim was rubbing his ears to try and distract him and I covered him with a blanket. It didn't stop him shaking though! We deliberately left the TV on so we could watch the fireworks in London and this seemed to help a bit, as the fireworks started to blend in with the bright pictures on the 'box'. Poor old Harbie!
So there I am emptying a couple of garbage bins at a retirement home one Saturday. I turn around to place them back, turn around again and next thing I see this wet blob hop out of the truck. It seemed a poor possum got stuck in the bin, spent the rainy night inside it and finally emerged absolutely saturated in foul garbage juice. It walked away casually, clearly not scared or anything, probably just pissed off it had spent a night covered in food waste. Then the following Saturday I was doing the same bins, once again turned around after placing them back and yet again there was a possum in the hopper! I’ve got a strong feeling it was the exact same one, but this time not covered in total shit. The little critter was aware of my presence this time and was reluctant to jump out and run up the nearest tree. Instead it moved as far away from me in the small space possible, climbed up to the packer and tried to squeeze through the crack on the side... stupid animal =] I went to grab the phone for a picture, thinking it would dash by time I got back, but the little fella was still there in the same spot. It seemed I needed to give some direction or get in there and pick the little thing up, but I decided against manual work after the first attempt, purely upon seeing it’s sharp claws and teeth following a harmless nibble of my hand. Anyway it escaped the truck unharmed and made it’s way up the overhead branches. The two cutest parts were when it tried to scratch it’s way through the sweep blade and when it took refuge under the bags lol
Ranchos Los Amigos was a poor farm and sanitorium founded in 1888. On over 600 acres of land South East of Downtown LA it has been closed since 1988.

Especially if you're a statue transplanted into one of my images. This poor woman and her children were a simple statue on the Gloucester, MA waterfront until I photographed them, added some color, brought them to life, and deposited them in my pictures. It's not easy being alive.

I did not take up railway photography until two years after the demise of BR steam, so when it returned to the main line in the early 1970s, I lost no time in recording what I could, given that I was still a teenager on a low wage.......
On 27 April 1974, Clan Line ran the Basingstoke to Westbury leg of a railtour from Waterloo. This I photographed at Whitchurch and on it's arrival back at Basingstoke in the evening. I took so many similar views of the thing that I had one frame left to record 74004 about to leave for London. It was a poor picture, the dim light (it left on time at 19.00) coupled with the dubious lens on the Fujica ended in a less than impressive result. Forty years on, a picture of 74004 is rather more desirable than one of 35028!
