Someone asked me 'why do you not wash the film for longer when using Pyro?", no help just that!!. I had actually put up a typo on my post and corrected it, but I did not get a response back from that person, just the question, so I looked into it. Gordon Hutching's did not have a set time as such, but only comments how it enhances the staining for so long with no rhyme or reason. Well I have found after a bit of dabbling, it actually enhances the contrast of the overall stain working on the highlights over the denser areas. There is an optimum window I have found - 21 to 23 mins wash. This washes the highlights enough so that they give better contrast over the dark areas, any longer in the wash and you are in danger of losing what you tried to achieve in the first place with the PMK. Water is very abrasive after all you know. Hope this helps those that care.............

I was drawn towards this potted plant. It was resting on a small side table, along with several other plants, whose surface was a mirror speckled with scratches and missing flakes. Sunlight was hitting the mirror and gave brilliant color to every plant displayed on this showroom of sorts. Using PX680 film in my SX-70 caused these strong colors to appear unsaturated, and I love that. The color is still there, but now the natural curves and waves in the violet's petals take center stage.
