My blue Toyota Yaris is relatively rare around here, so I was surprised to see its twin parked behind it.

It will take a while for me to get through my photos, but here's a slight preview... and geekiness.

This is what a cheap polarizer does to your shots. With on the left, without on the right.

Used polarizing filter and the plexiglass window caused a rainbow effect in my photos.

On this one I used a friend's circular polarizer filter... I was amazed at how well it added natural contrast and darkness to the sky, and lightened the foreground! Usually I'm disappointed by how washed out the sky is and how dark the foreground is in landscape shots like this, but the filter performed above and beyond what I had expected! I'm definitely going to get one for both my sigma 10-20mm and 30mm f/1.4

A Nuthatch with a seed in it's beak. The little bugger was picking them out, dropping them, and going back for more. I think it was looking for a specific kind of seed out of the mix.

The average view on the way back to my car, through my eyes- or at least my polarized sunglasses. I love that darkening gradient they give to the sky.

February 22

For most runners, Tuesdays are speed work days. I am in the middle to late stages of my Boston Marathon build which means my speed sessions have shifted away from track workouts to running at 'threshold' pace (roughly equal to my 10K race pace). This morning's workout was eight miles at threshold pace, aiming for 6:15-6:20 per mile, with only thirty seconds of rest in between each repeat. If you add on the two miles of warm up and two miles of cool down, it turned into a twelve mile run.

So back to the photo. The sun has been rising earlier in the morning lately and the early morning light has such a beautiful quality to it. I was cleaning some spots off my sunglasses when I noticed how brilliant the reflection was. And there you have it. Sunglasses self portrait.

Shot to show the importance of a polarizer... look at the before and after

admittedly not the best test shots, the floor worked nicely though

just in case you wondering what that polar thing is, here's wikipedia info

Got up this morning after a very short sleep with this headache. Had an apointment with a mortgage broker but I didn't pick up a word he was saying. Anyway he was way more expensive than the offer I allready have. Had to drive to Eindhoven today but I couldn't. Even now inside I feel like wearing my sunglasses. Popped a few ibuprofens but that gives only a slight relieve. Am to restless for this crap. Can't do anything. http://mobypicture.com/?dn88ny

Unlike the rest of this "summer", at least you can see a bit of the sun through the clouds this afternoon. Yay?
