I was wearing a new pair of polarized sunglasses and had never really noticed until now the beautiful rainbow colors contained in the clouds and invisible to the naked eye. So I grabbed my old fashioned rangefinder polarizing filter and took a few shots.

2 versions of the same place at the same time, the only difference was the difference in the twist of the polarizer, one case brought out the white clouds and their reflections, the other version shows more underwater detail in the tide pool in the foreground without cloud reflections.

La Linea de la Concepción

It is rare that this bridge in Cliff Gilker Park has been photographed from this side. When looking at my own inventory of shots, I too have rarely captured it from this view. Perhaps it is because the path that leads to this bridge does so from the other side. Tourists then cross it and follow down the path and along the stream.

Regardless, on this side the water is seen once again rushing due to the plethora of rain we have experienced. The bridge lies in the shade of the trees while the water that leads down the hill, does so in the light of the sun. And, the moss shines brilliant, as if plugged in to natures outlet.

I use a polarizer filter on many of my lenses, which helps to bring out the blue color in the sky. It also cleans up other haze in the photos, and reduces glare.

I laid out some dried sunflower seed heads in my backyard, hoping to photograph birds as they pecked at them, but the squirrels carried them away. This one brought it up to a branch to munch on before taking it home.

I was thinking about getting one of the toy cameras that you can have fun with but just set the camera to Toy setting and then found the Polariser setting and quite liked the outcome.
