Philadelphia's First Unitarian Church was pretty much a sauna on the night of Thursday, August 11th, 2005. The World/Inferno Friendship Society was incredible. The room was drenched in sweat after the band's set. With this shot, I was trying to capture just how slick the venue's floors were. The kid on the ground puts this image over the top. It got so physical and sloppy and wet and ecstatic in the hall. Unexpectedly for me, the evening turned into an experience of straight-edged, all-ages bacchanalia...
By the way, none of the photos of the W/IFS that I took that evening turned out to be worth a damn or to do that great band justice at all; so I can't bring myself to post them here. Kickback solenoid (on the far left) had a faulty connection, so we had to remove the apron. Similarly the connections on the gun solenoids had broken so the covers for those are also removed.

It probably was rather pointless raking up the leaves yesterday because as you can see, the hazel hasn't shed its leaves yet. However, it was a fine and dry day, so I thought I'd remove the ones that had already fallen, even though I'll have to do it again before too long.
