Pointless photography (i.e. me).
I was one of the two dozen people lined up at the rail taking pictures which in no wise captured what was going on (it was dark, the scene was cluttered and the work was slow, slow, slow).
Which is why I spent most of the time photographing the spectators rather than the spectacle.
The opening night of Pointless Theatre Company's "A Very Pointless Holiday" in the Flashpoint Gallery.
been scratching my head all week about this one when I spotted this on the table.Think trying to shake the die or dice in this would certainly be pointless

Because I don't really listen to them during the summer, but in the winter... ICK! Please don't put your wet, dirty boots on the seat.
This is one of the least safe lanes in Manchester, incredibly narrow and it places you right in the door-zone of cars in the marked bays.
Remember what I said about bicycles being one leitmotif during my stay in Philadelphia? Here's an example of that... Tony Pointless, from RAMBO, is about to be lifted up on a bicycle-frame palanquin during his band's set. (An aside: someone I got to know while I was in Philly has a fetish related to bicycles... Which makes sense: that sort of revelation reminded me of the "Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head" sequence in the movie Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid...Bicycles *can* be sexy!)
Poland's Jastak lays his shinai on The Netherland's Verschuere's wrist as the other man lashes out for a men strike during the Mens Individual Tournament at the 21st European Kendo Championship in Lisbon, Portugal. A point was not awarded.

This is what happens after 1000 hours in the wind tunnel. Epic fail.
The bland production model is the Muzak version of the original.
So much great potential committed to death.
With AMTK P42DC No. 161, the 50th anniversary Phase I locomotive in the lead, Amtrak’s westbound Southwest Chief No. 3 is a mere hour and forty-five minutes late as she pulls into Fullerton to offload one more round of passengers and checked baggage before finishing her journey into LA Union Station, the engineer and conductors preparing to wrap up their 392-mile return from Kingman.
Despite having a limited budget and roads crumbling away all over the city, some of which have potholes big enough to actually hold an entire pot, York city council has decided to go on a spree of resurfacing pavements... for the last 3-4 weeks they have been resurfacing pavements on both sides of Huntington Road from the Fossway junction up to near the junction with Byland Avenue. At the point of getting to the crossroad junction with Fossway, enough of a 'safe area' required for the equipment and vehicles required the traffic lights to be switched off and replaced by temporary lights so that one lane could be taken out of use; in this way the 4-way temporary lights halved the capacity of the junction by only allowing a single road to have a green light at a time (the normal light let roads opposite each other go on green at once)... However, as can be seen in this photo, there's a whole lot of drum roll for nothing going on here - there's no equipment, no vehicles, no workmen, and most importantly no work going on here: the workers were instead back up near Byland Avenue doing the pavement at that end whilst leaving the congestion-causing temporary lights in place for no reason. For the entire duration of the pavement works, somewhere between 10 days to 2 weeks these temporary lights had been in place at this junction, and for half of that time there was no work going on.
Discovered while on a walk in Northgate neighbourhood - a ramp to nowhere, literally, right in the middle of the street, leading to a grassy, knobbly field with a playground in it. Now, why is there a curb ramp and no pavement?
