Waiting for the Network Rail Test Train, this Alexander Dennis Mini Pointer Dart EU07 FRN was doing the circuit.

I put the camera on self-timer, with no flash, and I was inside in the evening when the light was low. I then pulled out the laser pointer and shone it all around the room - when the self-timer opened the shutter it captured the random patterns I was making.
Despite travelling across the UK for as long as I can remember, there was one region in England that I have not visited but only passed is the Potteries region in Staffordshire... The area covers Stoke-on-Trent which is a unitary authority and city; in fact Stoke-on-Trent was formed following the federation of six towns in 1910 and later gaining city status in 1925.
The six towns of Stoke consists of Burslem, Fenton, Hanley (the main commercial centre), Longton, Stoke-upon-Trent and Tunstall. The main operator within Stoke is First Potteries, a subsidiary within First Midlands.
Over the past decade, First Potteries has been seeing investment after years of neglect; it is one of the more eclectic of First's bus operations with a nice mixture of buses, but now modern and having experienced the operator first-hand, well-maintained interiors with friendly drivers.
Amongst First Potteries single-deck fleet which has been heavily modernised over the past decade, the subsidiary also operates two solitary Alexander Dennis Pointers, normally utilised on local services around Hanley. More often than not, they frequently appear on the 5 between Hanley and Abbey Hulton.
The two Pointers are easily distinguishable as they retain the first version of the Olympia livery, but their interiors are also non-standard... These Pointers originated from NCP Car Parks before going over to Melton Mowbray-based, West End Travel who were acquired by Centrebus in 2012. 43875/43876 were sold to Ensignbus by 2013 with First Potteries acquired them and where they remain ever since.

Fleet No 3326. My vehicle for an afternoon and evening on a Shuttle service between Wroxall and Godshill due to the closure of the main road through Godshill which required the No 3 to be diverted from the normal route. A thoroughly enjoyable session driving this machine.

Fort Point is located at the southern side of the Golden Gate at the entrance to San Francisco Bay. This fort was completed just before the American Civil War, to defend San Francisco Bay against hostile warships. Here are Pointer 1 SLF Enviro Darts 25 (P709 VEX) and 28 (P712 VEX) showing pre and post refurb E-Darts. For now, 28 is staying as a park and ride bus, while 25, in its rather shabby state, has had its P&R branding removed as it will be filling in across the wider RB network, following increased demand for single deckers on the Counties Connect routes.
At some point during the de-branding process, 25's front number plate disappeared. And the wipers you'll just have to imagine until I get chance to give it a proper repaint.

Now a dying breed in the town that they come from, there are still enough about to manage the occasional shot like this.
Pretty in Pink Stagecoach Park & Ride 34857 (GX06 DXF) and a corporate sister stand while Safeguard's MPD VU02 TTJ - their solitary example - passes through on a 4.

A friendly sign points the way toward ice cream at Great Brook Farm, part of Great Brook State Park in Carlisle, MA.
Something about this bright, clean sign in the midst of an overgrown field just makes me laugh (it's a bit of a walk from here through the state park to get to the ice cream stand).
Technical note: believe it or not (if you know me), this was shot on 35mm film. I wanted an inexpensive, waterproof camera to bring kayaking so I picked up a used Canon Powershot WP-1 weather-sealed film camera and decided to shoot a couple of rolls to get a feel for it.
I only got into photography seriously when we got our first digital camera many years ago, so I'm having fun going old school.
I can't see switching to film as my primary medium, but it does have a unique charm all of its own.

New to Bus Eireann
An appointment in Steeple Claydon this morning presented an opportunity to visit Langston & Tasker. Seen arriving back at the yard after its morning's duties, number 1 is one of the four low-floor Darts sourced from Dawsonrentals in early 2013 for new tendered services. There was a fifth low-floor, Enviro200 SN57 DXJ, but this was only operated for a few months before suffering fire damage and I never managed to photograph it.
Dennis / Plaxton MPD Mini Pointer Dart W702 BFV was new to Stagecoach Ribble as 702 and based at Clitheroe. When stagecoach sold their operations and vehicles in that area, this bus entered the Blazefield group and was shufle around between fleets - it first saw use with Lancashire United, then Harrogate and District, Keighley and District, Burnley and Pendle. When no longer required it was sold to WAVE of Stirling then later was purchased by McCall's of Lockerbie. It is now preserved by the Keighley Bus Museum Trust
Millsy keeps an eye out on those still in the ocean (he spent a whole 8 seconds in the water! :-) ).
A wet and wooly Sunday led to the cancellation of the Blue Hole Club swim, but a few hardy souls braved the ocean anyway.
