Gardbus Dennis Dart X531UAT now painted green stands in Gervis Place, Bournemouth with a 36 service to Verwood.
Arriva London North Dennis Dart SLF 10.2m/Plaxton Pointer DPP431, R431 COO [EC] on route 34 in Great North Road, Barnet. 1 February 2002.
The worst thing about the single deckers on the 34 were that the bus was to single door layout. The route is busy at most times of the day and evening with constant on & off loadings. The dual door ADL's from route 444 that made odd workings on the 34 seemed to run more efficiently at most locations were the bus would get packed. It meant people at the back of the bus wishing to alight didn't hold the bus up for a minute or two until they could get to the front door. The route has been converted to double deck with these buses cascaded to Arriva London South.

Preserved Plaxton Pointer 2 bodied Dennis Dart SLF KP51 SYR is pictured whilst taking part in the South Yorkshire Transport Trust Open Day & Running Day in Rotherham on October 3rd, 2021. This bus was new to Supertravel, Speke and served with Filers, Ilfracombe and latterly with Ellenvale, Aspatria before entering preservation. In this photo it carries branding for Leeds Airport, this being applied for filming scenes in the ITV soap opera 'Emmerdale'

With the normal allocation of Mini Pointer Darts, the 73 has largely escaped the technicolour bus fleet the rest of Excetera's routes have been experiencing.
Saturday afternoons though, where a bus runs from Guildford to take over the service from 1400, is a good source of oddities.
Today saw ex-London dual door Dart KU52 YLH do the honours.
Unless anyone can think of anything else, I believe this is the first recorded instance of a dual door bus working the 73 since it started in 2001.
Note the bus lane fine warning sticker - £120 fine. If only it were true here, if you drive under the canopy, absolutely sod all will happen.

I was impressed to see one of a number of new VDL SB200CS-based Wright Pulsar 2s for Arriva North West's Chester depot this afternoon on type training duties. Here, 3143 (CX12 DSZ) is seen at Chester Bus Exchange where it prepares to start type acclimatisation. This process involves showing each driver the main controls and basic type information such as fuel filler location and emergency engine stop, followed by a short drive to acclimatise the driver to the type in question. The new Pulsars are branded for the Blacon Pointer local services within Chester. Thanks to Wrexham driver training instructor Ray Simmons for allowing me on board and providing a demonstration of the vehicle.
Stagecoach South East 34541 (GX04EYS), a TransBus Dart SLF with TransBus Pointer 38 seat bodywork, was painted in a heritage livery in 2016 to celebrate the centenary of the formation of East Kent Road Car and was photographed at Canterbury bus station on 9 June 2016. It was new to Stagecoach Cambridgeshire in April 2004 and had been based at Peterborough.
Being bowled by traffic can be quite annoying, but when it's the rozzers I'm not going to pass up the opportunity to use the photo - after all who doesn't like the odd emergency vehicle now and then? The Lincolnshire constabulary are quite prolific around these parts and whenever I've gone into the city for bus spotting or anything else I never fail to see at a police vehicle at least once (usually several times, in fact).

"cuatro días se le pasaron en imaginar que nombre le pondría... y así después de muchos nombres que formó borró y quitó, añadió, deshizo y tornó a hacer en su memoria e imaginación, al fin le vino a llamar Rocinante, nombre a su parecer alto, sonoro y significativo de lo que había sido cuando fue rocín, antes de lo que ahora era, que era antes y primero de todos los rocines del mundo"

Robertson Buses has amassed an eclectic mix of Dennis Darts, and slightly odd conversions of said Darts are often undertaken. Bus number 1 was rebuilt to have a DDA friendly entrance, which required extensive modification to the door, floor, interior and front axle/suspension. 3 received similar treatment but after that it was deemed too much cost and effort to lower the entrance of every bus, and since then 13 has been the only bus to have such treatment. Even now, old Darts are still proving useful, but now we've found some proper low floor ones it is time to focus on giving the old buses a newer feel to them with a refurbishment that includes a new Enviro 200 spec engine which will make it cleaner, greener and hopefully more reliable. The introduction of the new-old Darts should help keep 1 and 3 out of front-line service and in the reserve fleet, since their own refurbishments have given them another three years of service, but you can't keep the o-ancient things going forever. (Although look at 13 - it just never dies and it's just about prehistoric!)

I am gradually putting together a dog walking business and this is one of my charges.
