Governor Kay Ivey delivered keynote remarks at the Economic Development Association of Alabama (EDAA) Summer Conference for the “Governor’s Luncheon,” Monday, August 6, 2018 in Point Clear, Ala. This membership-based organization is focused on promoting economic growth in Alabama. There are approximately 500 members, including directors and staff members from local economic development associations, as well as others involved in economic growth in Alabama

Based at Koksijde, Belgium, this 190 was involved in a mid air collision with another 190 during a hit and run attack along the Walton and Frinton coast line in mid 1943, the aircraft crashing in the sea off Frinton.

The pilot's body was recovered and buried in the German Cemetery Cannock Chase, Staffordshire.

On January 13th 1945, Raymond King, based at Wattisham was on an escort mission when he experienced engine failure and ditched his aircraft just 800 yards from the seafront at Clacton.

Although rescued by the crew of the Clacton lifeboat he never survived his ordeal in the bitterly cold sea and tragically died from hypothermia.

He was buried at The American Cemetery at Madingley, and after the war was returned to the United States.

The aircraft was recovered from the sea in 1987.

I came across this old abandoned school while taking a detour one evening to get to the Family Wash restaurant for the wedding rehearsal dinner. I didn't have time to stop that evening, but made a drive back two days later before I left town.

This is Dumont Avenue and Point Clear Road in Point Clear, Essex.
