Still playing with B&W still lives of objects found in my backyard. This is a Magnolia seed pod after the seeds are gone.

The Milkweed pods are open and sending out their seeds. I found it interesting that the pods were in different stages of being open.

Seed pods from a Crape Myrtle tree. I think they have a certain beauty all their own. These seed pods replaced the colorful flowers that were present most of the year.

Not only does the clematis produce an array of beautiful flowers, when the petals fade and fall we are left with wonderful feathery seed pods. In this instance I have inverted the image.

Don't laugh, Jill, but once again I do not know what this is... But I think it is a poppy... In fact, I am pretty sure it is - thanks to gracie's ephemera and @ires.

 

I was wandering through my father's garden (trying to avoid the sound of my mother's backdoor summer orchestra) when I came across this pod. I love the bristles on it - perhaps because I was heavily unshaven myself at the time... :)
