O Eixo Monumental é uma longa avenida que se localiza no centro do Plano Piloto de Brasília, a capital do Brasil. Foi inaugurada com a cidade, no dia 21 de abril de 1960. Estende-se por dezesseis quilômetros, fazendo a ligação entre a antiga Rodoferroviária de Brasília, hoje ocupada por órgãos e secretarias distritais, no extremo oeste, e a Praça dos Três Poderes, no extremo leste, perto do Lago Paranoá.
Foi criado por Lúcio Costa em seu projeto para o Plano Piloto, onde já é chamado Eixo, apesar de por vezes ter sido de Avenida Monumental. O Eixo Monumental é um dos dois grandes eixos da proposta de Lúcio que fazem o formato do Plano Piloto, sendo o Eixo Rodoviário, o popular Eixão, o outro. Os dois eixos se cruzam na Rodoviária do Plano Piloto, que por isso é considerada o local do Marco Zero de Brasília. É conhecido popularmente como o "corpo do avião", conforme a errônea crença popular que a cidade teria sido projetada com esse formato.[1]
Conforme o planejado, a avenida reúne boa parte dos principais edifícios governamentais brasileiros, incluído as sedes do executivo, legislativo e judiciário na Praça dos Três Poderes e os dezesseis edifícios dos ministérios. Também ficam na avenida diversos equipamentos culturais e esportivos, áreas de lazer e outros prédios institucionais. Seu largo canteiro central recebe feiras, espetáculos, competições, protestos, entre outros eventos.

I took my wife here for afternoon tea back in April as a belated Valentine's present. The food and ambience were superb as you'd expect for a restaurant with two Michelin stars but it was the toilets I really wanted to photograph.......

From Wikipedia : "Sketch is a restaurant on 9 Conduit Street, Mayfair, London, England, which opened in 2003. The restaurant is owned by Mourad Mazouz and the Head Chef is Pierre Gagnaire. The cuisine is described as 'New French', and is a loose adaptation of the cuisine served in Gagnaire's three Michelin-starred restaurant in Paris and is executed by Hervé Deville and Johannes Nuding.
Mazouz came to public attention through the success of Momo, the North African restaurant and bar he opened in 1997 just off Regent Street, although he was already well known in France for his celebrated restaurants, Au Bascou and 404.
The restaurant covers two floors of a converted 18th century site in Conduit Street, Mayfair. Its dining area contains a permanent exhibit of David Shrigley artwork, and Shrigley designed the restaurant's tableware."

This is a bunch of seeds called "seed pod". I post the Flower of these seeds earlier (See the first Comment by me is the image of that flower). These Seeds are covered with a thick green cover layer which contains Air, Moisture and a strong covering of thread like net substance. When these seed expose to the air they start turning brown like apple (may be rich in Iron). The head and the tail is cover with silver hairs Its about 3-4 inches long and Contain White milky Substance in the cover and in the plant. Very interesting to me I hope you will all like it to

One of the pods on the London eye looked different. on closer inspection there was no glass . Or perhaps it escaped................
This is a Seed Pod from the Southern Magnolia Tree. ( they really are this red.) Look closely and you can see the seeds almost ready to disperse. The Magnolias take on the look of a Christmas Tree when these turn bright red. We put plastic bags over the pods to catch the seeds.

People who wanted a high-speed thrill would collect the seed pods from the Venus plant and add a large engine and some controls. These pods had strange, anti-gravity properties. When ripe, the pods would float away from their parent tree, thus dispersing the seeds.

I've not studied Star Wars much, so I may have the wrong sort of pods and the ratio of pilots to engine pods the wrong round :D

Pod Kazimierzem Hotel was built in 1885 as a spa hotel. After the World War II it was used as a dormitory for technical school pupils while since 1994 it has been a property of the Ojców National Park.
