Lotus Flower "Water Garden" Nature

A Crotalaria Pod Borer (Argina astrea) in Bidadari.

Read about the destruction of Bidadari in my blog: Final Farewell to Bidadari

*Note: More pics of Butterflies and Moths in my Butterflies and Moths Album.

Don't laugh, Jill, but once again I do not know what this is... But I think it is a poppy... In fact, I am pretty sure it is - thanks to gracie's ephemera and @ires.

I was wandering through my father's garden (trying to avoid the sound of my mother's backdoor summer orchestra) when I came across this pod. I love the bristles on it - perhaps because I was heavily unshaven myself at the time... :)

The Lotus is a flower that grows in the mud, the deeper the mud the more beautiful the Lotus Blooms.

"Milkweed Seed Pods" by Patti Deters. This photograph of a native milkweed (Asclepias) fluff was taken from my Minnesota garden in early fall. The dried pointy seed pods split open to reveal the fluffy tails on the brown seeds. presented here in a vertical format. These pods are being replaced by rows of white flowers. This spring bloomer attracts mason bees. It's a good plant to have if you're looking to support nature's pollinators.

Normalmente con la cámara tiendo a caerme a la derecha. Para una vez que me caigo a la izquierda no la voy a corregir :-))

The fin whale is the second largest whale in the world after the blue whale. These examples were seen off the south coast of Greenland.

If it were a pot o' gold, it would be appropriate for St. Patrick's Day, but alas, it's not.

A group of young gators such as this is commonly referred to as a pod.

Seed pods from a hardy hibiscus plant.

It's HDR tHuRsDay!

This fun and colorful necklace is made from hand sculpted and painted polymer beads, all made by myself. Like all of my hand painted beads, they have been sealed with multiple coats of a durable, high quality varnish. It closes with a button toggle clasp made with metallic seed beads, which are also used as spacers throughout the necklace. It is all strung on waxed cotton cord.

Chinese Lantern fruit/seed pod.

Physalis.

If the flowers are left on the plant over winter, they form a mesh, skeleton-like pod containing the edible fruit, as seen in the photo.
