A cotton boll is a segmented pod containing 32 immature seeds from which the cotton fibers will grow. This boll is considered a fruit because it contains seeds. An average boll will contain nearly 500,000 fibers of cotton.
The cotton industry generates over $60 billion of business in the US, the greatest of any U.S. crop
I never knew it, but New Mexico is a cotton producer although cotton growing here seems to be in decline.

I love this long gown with animal print.
Have a wonderful sunday. The weather is fantastic, the temperature too. I am pleased about the dinner I was invited.😄

Himalayan Balsam Pods.
These grow as invasive weeds in the nearby brook carried by the water and proliferating along the muddy banks. Because the seed pods explode quite violently and have a spring mechanism inside the seeds can be found up to 5 metres from the point where the pod bursts. Kids love them and act as another dispersal method.

I found these little insects on some of the Milkweed pods. There are hundreds of them on each pod. They are as small as a pinhead.

The alien pod has landed. This is a center detail of Chawan Basu which is shown in the previous photo.
Zoom shot of the travellers on the London Eye! I would love to go on here one day - though the length of the queue we walked by was very very long!

The name of the house refers to the relief of two Africans located at the corner. In the 16th century "Ad Aethiopes" pharmacy was located in the building.
This was from a recent outing which was quite uncommon in that it was cloudy with no wind for an entire day. Macro subjects did not bob around and there were no harsh shadows to deal with. I have been drawn to the milkweed plants for sometime. I enjoy following their transformation over the growing season.

I've been thinking about what to do with jet engines I got in a Chima set, and also thinking about building one more speeder to improve my building skills.
Today I came up with an idea of making a pod racer as in Star Wars: EP 1. However, the minifigure pilot I have is actually a resistance pilot, precisely appearing much later in the SW galaxy.
So I tried the speeder to be more like a EP 4 thing, rather than a streamlined naboo star fighter.
Probably the resistance appropriated the Pod Racer to their fighter speeder. :D
