In general ... flowers, but specifically I find that the Poppy seed pod is an architectural miracle by Mother Nature ... I love these up there with dandelions. Fascinating, all of them.
About an inch in height, theses are smaller than Chinese lanterns and they don't turn orange. As far as I can tell they are ground cherries. The pods contain the fruit. Found in my garden.

The Hoppa Pod was one of the sub-miniature space pods that created a brief fashion, roughly 450 years ago. These little bubble cars were handy for people living in crowded megapolises. The cars were quick, cheap to run, easy to park and required the lowest level of pilot's licence. The distinctive noise made by these diminutive pods often annoyed the drivers of larger, more prestigious vehicles.
Home delivery drones and tele-working gradually reduced the need for small commuter and shopping space vehicles. Nowadays, space bubble cars are only seen in pristine, polished condition at rallies of enthusiasts.
The tiny seeds are inside the seed pods.
It's fun saving your own seeds whenever possible and see what grows out of them.
Sometimes the plant you get is identical to the mother plant, other times somewhat different if the mother plant was a hybrid.
The Australian Banksia accumulates seeds in its canopy, releasing them only when conditions are suitable for establishing new plants. The delayed release of this mature seed bank is known as serotiny, and can require the preservation of seeds inside their pods for several years, somehow secured against damage from high levels of UV radiation, predation, changing weather conditions and microbial attack. Release is then triggered, often by the normally destructive agency of bushfires.
The Australian children's author, May Gibbs, featured villains called Big, Bad Banksia Men whose scary looks were modelled on these strange growths.
The rogues gallery of Cantina aliens were always my favourite characters. I'd like to think that if I was a second generation Star Wars fan, I'd feel the same way about the Pod Racer pilots in Ep1

Orange Pod is a macro photograph of a Pod.
In autumn the trees in my neighborhood are covered with pods. The pods start out green and turn pink and then reddish brown. One day the wind knocked down several branches of pods, and the streets were carpeted with them. I brought them home and took many photos. For a while my living room looked like the world outside.
I love the structure of the pods, and the many creative possibilities they offer.
Aunque en esta estatua el emperador Marco Aurelio se presenta a lomos de un caballo, guarda muchas similitudes con las estatuas propias de Augusto. El tema central de la estatua es el poder y la grandeza divina, con el emperador agrandado con respecto a su talla real y tendiendo su mano, en un gesto muy característico de los retratos de Augusto. En este caso, el gesto puede también significar clemencia hacia, según algunos historiadores, un enemigo caído a los pies del caballo, que según algunos historiadores basados en relatos del medievo que especifican que en la estatua se mostraba también un cacique bárbaro en cuclillas ante la pata derecha delantera del caballo. Esta imagen tenía como finalidad mostrar al emperador como un señor de la tierra siempre victorioso y conquistador. Sin embargo, al no llevar armas o armadura, Marco Aurelio parece transmitir más una imagen de paz que de héroe militar, tal y como él se percibía a sí mismo y a su reino.

These are seed pods from the golden raintree, a species I’ve only seen here in Florida. Several of these large trees in my garden provide amazing fall color with two weeks of golden flowers in September followed by two months when the trees are laden with these salmon-colored seed pods, each containing three sturdy seeds. The pods resemble Chinese paper lanterns, or, as a second thought thought based on Cal's initial comment below, luscious lips in a Botox commercial. :-))
I generally like to photograph things in their natural setting, but these trees are forty feet high, and somehow, the delicate pods lose much of their impact when heaped on the ground. Plus it was pouring rain, so I, appropriately, took my raintree pods inside and tried a tabletop display.

Himalayan Balsam Pods.
These grow as invasive weeds in the nearby brook carried by the water and proliferating along the muddy banks. Because the seed pods explode quite violently and have a spring mechanism inside the seeds can be found up to 5 metres from the point where the pod bursts. Kids love them and act as another dispersal method.
