The Pod is 17 inches tall now.
There's a bunch more popping up.
The putrefied stink of death surrounds it.
OK, here's some important information.

These seed pods were changing colour as they were dying. I liked the variation from when they were starting to dry out to when they went hard and crisp. The seeds inside were clearly visible.
Coop and I found these on a rare desert walk. I am told the little seeds will make your skin super itchy.

Seed pods from wildflowers in the San Francisco Bay Area hills.
This is a very subtle photograph, with a small range of tones and nothing hat is quite pure white or even close to black. The light in the early evening here was quite soft, and I almost decided not to try to photograph this subject — the colors were so subtle, the light was low, and I was working handheld. But there I was, there the seed pods were, so I decided to give it a try.
The pods belong to some very tall wild grasses that grow along a trail that I frequently hike. Perhaps only weeks ago this would have been a very green subject, but here in California we move pretty quickly from the green of April to the brown, tan, and golds of the warmer portion of the year.

Two Pods of the Thames River Crossing cablecar system pass across the façade of an extremely ugly and self-conscious building.
In just two days this image has scored 3220 hits, becoming my second-most-viewed image ever — thank you, everyone!
UPDATE: In what seems like no time at all, this has become my most-viewed image ever!
I shot these lovely anenome's while on a waterfall tour on Hawaii"s Big Island. I like working on my pictures with elements, but I love it when a shot is perfect SOOC. All I've added to this shot was a watermark.
THERE WAS ONE ODD POD (THE RED ONE) SO I WAITED FOR IT TO COME BACK ROUND AGAIN & CAUGHT IT JUST IN TIME.

Having a BBQ outside the pods and a rainbow appeared behind us. We'd had great weather all day walking around the cliffs. Just a spot of rain at the end of the day as we were setting up the BBQ so the Rainbow was a great photo opportunity!
A large group of a pod of Hawaiian spinner dolphins heads towards the light to take a few breaths of air. The little one at the bottom has to be my favourite.
Freezing rain left a glaze in my backyard. Photo was taken directly in front of a mural I painted on my fence, which provided the backdrop.
These lovely looking chili pods are some of the most fiery hot varieties in the world. My boyfriend likes to grow them on our window sill.
Well, I think they are very decorative. Eating them? Never! :-)
Have a nice day!
