The somewhat unusual architecture of the Scottish Parliament building at Holyrood, Edinburgh. These windows belong to the offices of the government ministers.
I was going to say that this building is bit like marmite - you either love it or hate it - but to be honest, I simply can't decide. I think I'm somewhere in the middle.
The pods remind me of these tangy raspberry flavored candies coated in sugar I use to love when I was a kid...

This is everything we took with us from the house when it sold. The buyers loved what I did decorating itt, the choices I made for paint and wall-hung items, even the furniture in the living room, dining room, study, master suite, family room, and the sun porch......so those furnishings all were included in the sale.
I caught the free-diving bug.
Free diving is a sport with many facets and variations. The purest form is where one dives as deep as possible and ascends back to the surface under one's own power...on one breath of air. It is a sport that requires physical as well as mental discipline. With purity comes risk, but the rewards of freedom from cumbersome gear is hard to describe. I'm just beginning to scratch the surface of this sport, but I can already see the appeal...I'll be obsessed in no time, I'm sure.
Right now, I have a book from Amazon.com and the 6-feet-deep pool in my townhouse complex. But, by the time the pool closes in 1 1/2 months, I'm determined to be ready for 2 minutes and 60 feet, as well as a mentor/coach (not the easiest thing to find in the suburbs of New Jersey!).
While technically this photo was probably taken on 4/26, it was still an extension of 4/25...
After the rehearsal dinner the boys took me on a little adventure that included a Honky Tonk, go cart racing, bungee jumping, and this - the reverse bungee. I guess that is what you call it... it shoots you straight up in the air.

BUAP ganó Concurso Estatal de Litigación Oral

La Facultad de Derecho y Ciencias Sociales de la Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla –BUAP-, obtuvo el primer lugar del concurso Estatal Universitario de Litigación Oral convocado por la Comisión Nacional de Tribunales Superiores de Justicia –CONATRIB-, en enfrentamiento con la Universidad de las Américas Puebla –UDLAP- que calificó en segundo sitio.
Al informar lo anterior el Licenciado Leonardo Israel Esquivel, quien tuvo bajo su responsiva la etapa estatal convocada por el Instituto de Estudios Judiciales del Poder Judicial, mencionó que como se indica en la convocatoria, los ganadores recibieron los premios a que se hicieron acreedores.
El tercer lugar en este concurso lo obtuvo la Universidad Iberoamericana, Campus Puebla.
La etapa estatal del concurso universitario nacional de litigación oral, se llevó a cabo en la Sala de Audiencias de Ejecución de Sanciones y Medidas de Seguridad del Poder Judicial, ubicada en la explanada del Centro de Reinserción Social de San Miguel.
El propósito fundamental de la CONATRIB, al llevar a efecto este certamen nacional, consiste en la búsqueda del mejoramiento de la administración de justicia, apoyar la investigación, la docencia, la difusión de la cultura jurÃdica y la ética judicial.
El Concurso Nacional es de carácter universitario y está encaminado a la puesta en práctica de conocimientos sobre el Sistema Penal Acusatorio en el Marco de la Reforma Constitucional del Sistema de Justicia penal, a través de la simulación de audiencias orales.
Israel Esquivel, mencionó que el certamen regional se efectuará en el Estado de Michoacán, en fecha próxima.
Ran across a large pod of dolphins while out kayaking in Fannin Bayou. I guess they thought we would feed them because they sure were friendly, one even nudged my kayak and others splashed us. Unfortunately my old camera that I take kayaking was acting up so really didn't get many good photos of them.

Gana BUAP Segundo Certamen Nacional Universitario de Litigación Oral

• Ibero y Libre de Derecho obtienen segundo y tercer lugar respectivamente
• Es necesario un cambio en la forma de aplicar justicia con el sistema de oralidad: RFT
El Poder Judicial del Estado de Puebla y La Comisión Nacional de Tribunales Superiores de Justicia (CONATRIB), otorgaron a la Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla (BUAP), el Primer Lugar del Segundo Certamen Nacional Universitario de Litigación Oral, en su fase estatal.
El Magistrado Presidente del TSJP, Roberto Flores Toledano, señaló que los abogados están obligados a formar parte de un cambio trascendental en la forma de aplicar la justicia con la entrada en vigor de los juicios orales.
Asimismo, reconoció que el Poder Judicial seguirá apoyando estas transformaciones en materia de oralidad, a fin de impartir una justicia de forma transparente y honesta.
En el Certamen participaron alumnos de 10 instituciones de educación superior públicas y privadas, en las que fungieron como fiscales y defensores en audiencias simuladas en juicios orales en materia penal con el uso del Código Penal Federal y del Código Nacional de Procedimientos Penales.
Durante la premiación, los alumnos de la máxima casa de estudios, recibieron un estÃmulo económico, reconocimientos y el derecho a concursar en la etapa regional que se efectuará en el Estado de Tlaxcala del 27 al 31 de octubre del presente año.
El segundo lugar fue para la Universidad Iberoamericana y el tercero se concedió a la Escuela Libre de Derecho.
Con estas acciones, el Poder Judicial refrenda su compromiso con la difusión de los derechos humanos para impartir una justicia equitativa y al alcance de todos.
