10.04.2010 Podczas podchodzenia do lądowania na lotnisku Siewiernyj pod Smoleńskiem rozbił się samolot z Prezydentem Lechem Kaczyńskim i Pierwszą Damą Marią Kaczyńską. Na pokładzie było wiele najważniejszych osobistości życia publicznego: posłowie, senatorowie, dowódcy sił zrbojnych, biskupi, przedstawiciele Rodzin Katyńskich. Na zdjęciach ulice Warszawy po katastrofie.

The tamarind pods could be found many places. Sometimes you'd even see them on the beach. At Betty's Hope we saw a sign nailed to a tamarind tree that said:

The STAR FORTRESS POD!
The Star Fortress was an affordable playset alternative in the days when Star Wars and space toys ruled the toy aisles, and children’s homes. Made for Sears, the fortress opened to resemble a moon or asteroid base, and it came with this landing pod as well as a hard plastic gray cannon. The Fortress also could be used as a carrying case for toys and figures.
This pod is sturdy cardboard encased in a soft, clear plastic. The main door and top hatch open for toy access, and are quite well detailed with spacey illustrations. The snap on the bottom was to affix it to the top of the Star Fortress playset. More information about the Star Fortress can be found here:

View from my doorstep. These are 8 man rooms. They got us piled on top of each other in bunk beds. Not a very comfortable living situation. 7 other dudes in one room and hygiene standards vary from anal to none at all.

Pods to be hung on Schiecentrale Phase 4b. These two by three meter sheds were described in a local newspaper as aesthetic zits where there is room for bikes, camping gear, freezers and a spare bed. I like 'm!

I always thought that bartenders were the ones who always knew your name, dispensed advice, and at times, acted as therapists. For me, that's my barber.
Robert has been cutting my hair since I was five. Sure, there were the years when I moved away. And, for other periods of life, my hair was cut by other people. So, even after a few absences, some lasting months while others lasting years, Robert has always picked things up pretty much where we had left it last. He has an uncanny ability to remember conversations and details about your life. And, for a few friends who I haven't seen in years, Robert is our link...he still cuts the hair of a few of my gradeschool classmates.
Some things have changed...Robert now calls me "Doc" when he used to call me JenFu. He's got a little bit more grey in his hair. But, for the most part, things are the same as 2 decades ago. Robert is in the same shop. He still practices solo (he's tried to add a partner here and there but everyone just insists on waiting for Robert). And, he still never fails to enrich my day. There have been a few constants in an otherwise dynamic life and I hope to continue this monthly ritual for many years to come.
This is my new mp3 player. It was a gift from Paul for my birthday. It is pretty nifty, because there is an option so it will appear as a USB mass storage device. So you can drag and drop your songs. This is important, because I do not like using proprietary software that tries to sell me things.
It is easy to use. But there are some firmware issues with it. Occasionally you must do a hard reset to it, as the power button is a software shut off. I wish I didn't have to do this, but not so much that I wish I had a different player.

Poder Judicial y CAIP signan convenio en materia de transparencia y acceso a la información

• El acceso a la información, es un derecho humano básico para el mejoramiento de una conciencia ciudadana: RFT
“El Poder Judicial del Estado renueva su compromiso con la legalidad y la transparencia”, señaló el Magistrado Presidente Roberto Flores Toledano, durante la firma de convenio que estableció con la Comisión para el Acceso a la Información Pública y Protección de Datos Personales (CAIP).
El acuerdo tiene el objetivo de promover la capacitación de los servidores públicos en materia de acceso a la información y protección de datos personales, así como jurisprudencias.
“Desde el Poder Judicial el binomio de la legalidad y la transparencia atacan directamente uno de los flagelos que más aquejan a nuestra sociedad, la corrupción”, puntualizó el titular del Tribunal Superior de Justicia.
Flores Toledano, destacó que el Poder Judicial actualmente es más visible, abierto hacia la opinión pública y profesional, en busca de la construcción de caminos de diálogo.
Por su parte, el Comisionado Presidente de la CAIP, José Luis Javier Fregoso Sánchez, señaló que pretenden vincular una corresponsabilidad entre el Poder Judicial y la CAIP, lo que permitirá la promoción del derecho ciudadano y la difusión del mismo.
Fregoso Sánchez, dijo que con este acuerdo no sólo se establecen compromisos de participación, sino que confluyen derecho, obligaciones y participación ciudadana.
Con estas acciones el Poder Judicial del Estado de Puebla se actualiza y consolida una administración de justicia incluyente, transparente y de calidad.
