These wintertime visitors are always a treat and so the encounters are always special to me. The one that was one his perch stepped down into the shallow water to join the second Roseate Spoonbill that arrived a few minutes later. So, it was now a double your pleasure moment with the Spoonbills while the White Pelican stretched and contorted off in the distance on Horsepen Bayou.

Carennac est l'un des plus beaux villages de France situé à 50 km au nord-est de Gourdon.
Petite commune desservie par la gare de Bétaille, sur la ligne d'Aurillac à Brive, Carennac se trouve au centre d'une région riche en curiosités naturelles et sites historiques d'un grand intérêt : à quelques kilomètres, le gouffre de Padirac et un haut-lieu de pèlerinage : Rocamadour.
Sur les rives de la Dordogne, maisons renaissance aux fenêtres sculptées et aux toitures brunes s’enchevêtrent autour d’un prieuré clunisien du XIème siècle où vécut Fénelon. Près de l’église romane et de son cloître, le château des Doyens vous invite à découvrir les richesses du Pays d’Art et d’Histoire dont Carennac fait partie.

I've been there at New Year's Eve and a few days before too and found out that the celestial pole is right above the mountains form that POV there, so I spontaneously used the first day of this year for another long exposure session. Luckily we got clear blue starry skies for a few hours in the evening.
