...if some pictures can only be shown or seen when the ppl who want to show or see them pay a fee that not everyone is able to pay, it will reduce the community. What artist pays to show his art to a non-existent audience. Some of us could and would pay for Pro-Membership to show our creativity... but is there sense in posting our art... and paying for it... when our audience is reduced to only the few ppl who are willing to pay the Pro-Membership too? Please Flickr... re-think the policy... find a better way to secure your financial base.

A very large bluish-purple waterbird with a red bill and forehead shield, as well as red legs and feet with long toes. The tail is flicked up often, revealing fluffy white “underpants.” Juveniles are duller than adults and lack the red bill and shield. An inhabitant of marshy, vegetated freshwater bodies such as swamps, rivers, and lakes; usually in small groups. Feeds, often clumsily, at muddy water edges, in reeds, and on floating vegetation. Makes short nasal grunts and croaking sounds. Formerly part of the species known as Purple Swamphen. (eBird)

One of the excursions offered on our river cruise was a trip to Tam Nong RAMSAR Bird Sanctuary at Tram Chim National Park. A lovely peaceful boat ride around the wetland resulting in some great bird sightings, including this beautiful swamphen foraging along the shore.

At first Catherine with Atrus and Anna lived happily on Myst Island. They married and had two sons, Sirrus and Achenar. She fondly remembered them sitting over the reflection pool in full happiness.

Anna died accidentally while visiting one of her Ages. Catherine felt deep regrets about her death, and didn't write ever since. Consumed in sorrow, she failed to see that her little sons needed her most.

Unfortunately, the pollen that the bees collect alongside the nectar doesn't fit in their stomachs. Fortunately, the bee has the perfect collecting apparatus on its legs. When it emerges from a flower, it simply sweeps it up and tucks it into a spot on its hind leg. To prevent it from falling out, it sticks it together with a bit of nectar. Because it looks as if it's wearing baggy pants, these pollen clumps are called "pollen pants."

Please, do not leave without a comment. Constructive criticism and suggestions are always welcome!...

I'll bet that title's never been used before. :)) Happy Monday.

An overall sooty-colored cuckooshrike with broad white tips to the tail feathers. Male is dark sooty-gray with a slaty sheen, slightly paler on rump. Underparts paler toward tail; wings black. Female is very similar to male, but paler in general, often weakly barred with dark and pale gray on underparts. Male has a black mask, while female has dark lores and a faint eyering. Juvenile is blackish-brown above and brownish-gray below, heavily scaled whitish all over, with broad white tips on wing feathers. Immature like female, but more strongly and extensively barred below. Song is a loud series of whistles “pe-pe-pe-peew-peew-pew”; sometimes the starting notes are skipped. Found in all types of woodlands, including broad-leaved forests, sometimes even near cultivation during non-breeding season. (eBird)

During a very sobering visit to the tunnel systems used by the Viet Cong during the Vietnam War, I caught a glimpse of this bird high in the canopy. It brought a little peace of mind, knowing that birds were once again inhabiting this place of war and destruction.

I had originally id'd this bird as an Ashy Drongo but I was wrong. The long tail misled me, but of course, the eBird reviewer let me know my mistake right away :-)
