This “original chicken” is smaller than its domestic descendants, and is widespread throughout South and Southeast Asia; can also be found as an introduced species in many regions around the world (especially prevalent on many Pacific Islands, including Hawaii). In its introduced range and some areas of its native range it has interbred widely with feral and domestic chickens, producing intermediate hybrids. Many of these birds cannot be distinguished from genuine wild-type birds. Within native range calls are useful for ID: the wild male’s crowing is hoarse and choked off towards the end, unlike the loud, vibrant calls of the domestic rooster. (eBird)

NOT A CHICKEN
She is the wild species from where all other chickens come from. To my eye she is quite disimilar to the domestic chicken, compared to the male. A small flock of ten birds came out to mingle with the other birds and mammals at the hide.

A mother grizzly and her cub had just finished eating a salmon carcass in the tall grasses by the water's edge, and the silvery-coloured cub, which had been mostly hidden in the grass, came out to the water's edge, as if to look for more salmon. Chilko Lake, BC.

At first Catherine with Atrus and Anna lived happily on Myst Island. They married and had two sons, Sirrus and Achenar. She fondly remembered them sitting over the reflection pool in full happiness.
Anna died accidentally while visiting one of her Ages. Catherine felt deep regrets about her death, and didn't write ever since. Consumed in sorrow, she failed to see that her little sons needed her most.

Rod Stewart - These Foolish Things
Hi There!
It seems that I am on topics related to butterflies so it is only timely that I caught this Monarch ovipositing on milkweed yesterday morning! I was after this Monarch for at least a half an hour as it zoomed within the milkweeds at the edge of the pond. I didn't realize it was laying eggs until I saw this on the monitor.

A chunky, large-headed bird of open areas, usually found perched on wires or flying around in search of insects. Soft gunmetal gray with white underparts. Often found pressed together in pairs or tight groups when at rest. Sometimes flies in the same areas as swallows and swifts, but has a much thicker build, with triangular, somewhat starling-like wings. The only woodswallow throughout most of its range. Song is a somewhat myna-like series of sweet warbling and harsh chattering. Also gives nasal scolding “nyeh”, comparable to a jay or treepie. (eBird)

Frequently seen but not photographed. I finally found a pair on the power lines, then this one came a little closer and I could get a better look. The only angle I had was into the sun so he was pretty shadowed in the final image. A little editing brought out his subtle colours.
Despite the name and appearance, this bird is not a swallow. It is actually in the same family as the Australian Magpie!
