Salmon River Lighthouse is a standard tapered square style light erected in 1924 on the end of the breakwater at Salmon River, north of Yarmouth near Cape St. Mary's. The light ceased operation in the 1980s and was purchased by a businessman and moved about 60 kilometers (37mi) to West Pubnico. It was an Arcadian craft shop, but closed and is now owned by Vernon d’Eon Fishing Suppies Ltd.

Flynn is still... tentative about being touched. Given the length of time he was sick & in pain, at such a young age (including through fear periods, as a puppy), all the negative associations he built up around being touched during that time & how incredibly sensitive he is, I'm not sure we'll ever fully conquer Flynn's fears. However, as long as we can safely do the basics with him (like clipping leads on & off etc) & Flynn's happy with life, then that's OK - I like patting & stroking cuddly dogs but we find other ways to interact & have fun together.

We have made progress over the years - more than I once thought would be possible. Recently for example, I did manage (for the first time since I adopted him!) to brush Flynn a few times. Just giving him a light brush on his back is a massive deal for this nervy pup - it is a very good job he's got nice short fur that doesn't mat & sheds dirt easily! Poor guy was shedding like mad a few weeks ago though, & it looked uncomfortably hot, plus he was so tufty & scruffy, I felt I had to try... Anyway, I took the brush with us on a few walks & found that he'd stand nicely & accept a minute or so gentle grooming, in return for being allowed to run away & play immediately afterwards :)

Flynn is much happier about touch, if it is *his* choice to make contact - with a nose, or paw. He's certainly quite comfortable about approaching & being physically close to me now, far more trusting. He learned a while back that tapping a paw - or sometimes two - on my leg, usually results in me handing over a tasty snack! On this occasion, as a special treat because we'd gone further than normal, Flynn got a nice chewy "bone" (one of those dental chew things). Haha & when he'd finished that, he started eyeing up my crisps!

Certainly we can do something for your beautiful blonde hair.

Another shot of the little beggar at Sheepeater Cliff; it was so obvious from their behavior that people feed them. They were quite cute and entertaining.

The ship CSL Argosy, a Self Discharging Bulk Carrier at Aulds Cove, loading material from the quarry.

A large quarry on Cape Porcupine Mountain built at the southern end of Aulds Cove was used to supply fill material for the causeway; as of 2015, this quarry continues to operate in its sixth decade.

The Porcupine Mountain facility is one of Canada’s largest producers of construction aggregate - a mixture of materials such as crushed stone, sand and gravel used in the production of concrete and asphalt for roads and other infrastructure.

I've stumbled upon a strange phenomenon occurring in the post-apocalyptic world.

It seems that some of the poisonous gases lingering in the air have reacted in such a way that air pockets have been formed, thus creating a livable habitat where plants and other living organisms can thrive.
