P&W 4007 leads the Blackstone Valley polar express through Millville, MA. This train departed Woonsocket at 1:00 and made a 90 minute round trip to Uxbridge.

Please help me identify this bird. This was taken in S. California at Vale Lake near Temecula in September. There were bushtits nearby. This one was about the same size with the same shaped beak, but with a different color. Could it be a juvenile Bushtit?
A story of a voyage, of a train and of an incredible lucky break.
Every story has a beginning and this one starts on a sunny Sunday morning in Porto.
My wife and I, we only wanted to walk a little bit around. Therefore we were dressed, therefore I only had two films with me. (and because of the sunny morning only low ones)
Our luck led us to the old railway station. And there we met, we saw the Presidential. A train full of history, a train created for kings, presidents and popes. (But more about that later)
I took some photos, I spoke with some of the crew and I got to know the founder and executive curater of that museum trian, Mr. Goncalo Castel-Branco.
He looked at me, he saw my old Hasselblad and he asked me what we have planned for the day. „If you have nothing special programmed and if you will take some shots of the train for me, you will be my guests“.....
And this was the beginning of a wonderful experience, of a great and incredible day.

Thomas, one of our neighbor's three Maine Coon cats came towards me and literally rolled in front of my gate. He's the only one who dares to venture outdoors and often uses our small tree as his personal toilet.
I once had the opportunity to hold him as I was calling for Joey but Thomas came from across the road instead. I picked him up and handed him back to our neighbor's husband who happened to be outside his gate.
As a cat lover, I fear for Thomas' safety as he often sits underneath his human's parked cars and crosses the road to my side. Although the residential road isn't busy, cars have been known to pass by without warning.
Joey used to sneak into Thomas' residence and challenge him to a fight, but since he has stopped going there Thomas often comes over instead. I saw him earlier today on the way back from buying breakfast, but I didn't have the time to go out to say hello.

For years the signals at Leeds Jct haven't worked since a car accident took out the signal box... even still the junction has had a manual throw switch to the branch, and either end of the siding, for as long as I can remember.... CSX will be upgrading all this area so in a few years it will look entirely different with control switches and new signals. For now, they survey their new prize.
