I am excited beyond words to have landed into the top ten of the Air&Space/Smithsonian Annual Photographic Contest, Military Aviation Category. There is a Readers Choice award, done by vote.
I have 2 photos in the top ten but this one is my favourite - and its the only UK finalist, the only RAF finalist so please can you go give it your vote? The Reds are the best after all! And vote early vote often, you can vote once per day!! Thank you!

Southbound CSX Q143 creeps into downtown La Grange, Kentucky, as the late afternoon shadows loom over the town’s main street. In the siding, northbound Q574 waits patiently. It will be cleared momentarily, having also waited for a monster southbound Q575. It’s Palindrome Day, and 575 seems like an appropriate number for the rare occasion.

Sehr geehrte Damen und Herren,
an dieser Stelle möchte ich mich noch mal herzlich bedanken, dafür das Sie so herzlich auf meinen Folgefoto gewartet haben.
Moment mal ... Hallo? Ist jemand da? HALLO?
Ich habe extra den Wartesaal so formidable herrichten lassen. Keine Kosten und Mühen gescheut, habe ich. Und nun ist niemand hier?
Wo soll das nur enden? Ohne die Anerkennung aus dem Internet fühl ich mich doch sofort auf das Niveau eines RTL-Guckers degradiert. Da spüre ich eine Wertigkeit, dessen vergleich man lange suchen muss. Sagen wir, wie ein Postbote ohne Post. Wie ein veganer Vampire. Oder aber wie Laktose intoleranter Qualitätsprüfer im Molkerei.
Hmpf. Alles wo nach ich lechze, ist doch nur ein Hauch von Anerkennung.
Ach scheiß drauf. Glaubt mir, eh keiner =)
Was ihr mir aber glauben könnt, ist Folgendes.
Ich wünsche euch noch ein schönen Abend. Und hey! Kopf hoch. Bald ist Wochenende!
