Mum and large chick glided across the lake and started grazing quite close to me. Just when I was focussing on the youngster it moved to ask for food from it's parent.

The Church of St Cuthbert is an Anglican parish church in Wells, Somerset, England, dating from the 13th century. It is often mistaken for the cathedral. It has a fine Somerset stone tower and a superb carved roof. It is a Grade I listed building.[1]

This was always the best shot I could get of this lighthouse, well this time I decided to try and get closer. Problem is the lighthouse is on private land of the High Liner fish plant there. I had tried to get permission before but was denied.
There has been a lighthouse in this location since 1864.

This small place is in a Cemetery in Portage Road in Niagara Falls, NY. There is a sign on the place something about Cremating people there. I like the vines on this small building
Please note, this is not my photograph. It is my shot of a photograph in an art gallery in Oldham! A fantastic montage of photographs taken well over a hundred years ago. Worth the visit to this gallery for this alone, but all of the displays were good. I loved it, and will return. This panorama was about four yards long and a yard high. Brilliant! I love this section of the image. It shows the sewing machine factory, and a parade of coal wagons, some of which are from South Yorkshire (Silkstone), West Yorkshire (Flockton) and Derbyshire (Clay Cross). Wonderful!
I have tried and failed to find a person on these images. Is that because of the time of day, or a long time exposure on the photographs?

During what was thought to be GIO Rail's final run to St. Catharines on the Grantham Spur, a couple of friends and I ventured a little over a hundred kilometres to go see it. We unfortunately missed the train's arrival on the spur as it got there about an hour earlier than expected, and by the time we showed up it was already down to the last customer before making its way back south. A slight hiccup to be sure, but nothing too serious. The boxcars now had to be loaded/unloaded by employees of the industry, Dunn Paper, before the train could continue. The process took at least another three hours after this photo was taken, but chatting with the other photographers who arrived from all over made the wait significantly more bearable. It was the silver lining of an otherwise depressing event - what very well could be the final train to run over the right-of-way of a long-dead interurban. The "chase" ended up only lasting for about 500 metres when it was found the locomotive was leaking oil, prompting the crew to tie it down for the night later that afternoon. It was certainly a disappointing conclusion for us, but still a solid introduction to a shortline railroad I'd never shot before. The remainder of this train's final run was conducted the following day.
A brief ray of sunlight shines on TRRY 1859 at Dunn Paper while a lake-effect snow squall darkens the sky behind it.

Stained glass window in St Patrick's Cathedral -
Building of the cathedral commenced in 1858. Since the Catholic community of Melbourne was at the time almost entirely Irish, the cathedral was dedicated to St Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland.
In 1974 Pope Paul VI conferred the title and dignity of minor basilica on it. In 1986 Pope John Paul II visited the cathedral and addressed clergy during his Papal Visit.
The cathedral is built on a traditional east-west axis, with the altar at the eastern end, symbolising belief in the resurrection of Christ. The plan is in the style of a Latin cross, consisting of a nave with side aisles, transepts with side aisles, a sanctuary with seven chapels, and sacristies. Although its 103.6-metre (340 ft) length is marginally shorter than that of St Mary's Cathedral, Sydney, St Patrick's has the distinction of being both the tallest and, overall, the largest church building in Australia.

In the distance (left) is the Fisherman's House - this is where the bus stops during high seasons, on the right is the Dauphin Demi-Bastion and the fortification walls.
