The suburban platform ends at Waterloo were rebuilt in the early 1980s. This view includes a class 33 on a Salisbury line train (unusually using such a low-numbered platform) and a class 508.

KENNEDY SPACE CENTER, FLA. At Launch Complex 39B, technicians construct a platform in Space Shuttle Discovery's payload bay to support an upcoming borescope inspection of the retract link assembly on the orbiter's main landing gear door. The inspection is a precautionary measure after a small crack was found in a retract link assembly on the right-hand main landing gear on orbiter Atlantis. An initial review of the closeout photos of the link assembly on Discovery did not reveal any cracks. Discovery is scheduled to return the Space Shuttle fleet to operational status on mission STS-114. This additional work does not impact the launch planning window of July 13-31. Shrewsbury Station in March 2007 and a view along platform 7a as signs point out the location of the toilet facilities. The platform is mainly used for trains from Manchester or Holyhead towards Hereford and South Wales, and by the local stopper service to Crewe via Whitchurch and Nantwich.
Inspired by J.K. Rowling's "Harry Potter" series, Platform 9¾ at London's Kings Cross station. The trolley seems to disappear into the wall.
This extremely narrow platform was added in the 1950s to relieve overcrowding at Wilson, then a busy station serving both CTA and North Shore Line trains. Unlike the platform serving the southbound Purple Line Express track, this one can no longer be used in servicel, having been sealed off and stripped of its canopy.
Wellington, Diversey, and Armitage--the three "local" stations between the subway portal and Belmont--all have unusually narrow platforms at points. These problems were mostly fixed during the Brown Line project.
