This is a flat plaster Christmas ornament, I used to paint a lot of these, especially in the 1990s. There was a great selection of them in the crafts stores back then.

15 mL of Plaster of Paris was hydrated with 7.5mL of a solution of 1mL sugar and ~20 crystals of CuCl2. On top was added about 0.75mL of strontium carbonate, 0.75mL of barium carbonate and 0.75mL of sulfur as well as about 0.03mL of copper carbonate (malachite). After the plaster had set it was heated until bluish yellow incandescence using a MAPP gas torch (fresh tank).
