8/7/11 Plasterwork has begun. Ceilings are pretty much all done and the walls in about half the house.

Plaster model I made of my hand. Looks really creepy, and really cool.

Not yet mounted but this will be the start. Will fill in gaps with plaster. Paint and India ink wash will make it look real soon.

Using the idea of reduction, i have taken away hand shapes from the plaster, leaving a boulder shape. This is to signify the invisibility of many of Britians homeless and the forgotten people of society.

The final step, before bagging, is to place the wet clay on a plaster bat. I think that I am going to make four more this week. These plaster bats are invaluable. Every potter needs one. I'll make a set showing how it's done, the right way. I made these bats wrong for quite awhile. I always wondered why potters used them. Mine hardly absorbed any water at all. Don't believe anyone that talks about pouring the plaster into water and creating islands. I'm not going to say it's impossible to get it right, but..........
