Embossing
Embossing involves raising areas of a card surface above the level of the rest. The diagram below shows a coat of arms that has been embossed on bizcard. The images stands out from the card as it has been produced by a stamp which presses the card to the correct shape.
Raised Ink
Raised Ink provides small to large print runs of a variety of custom printed products for businesses and organizations. This raised ink feeling is thought to give a memorable higher quality feeling to what would normally be a flat printed surface.
This is one of my recent bargains from the used bin of a local camera store. The original mount is for Contax / Yashica, and I am using a DVD Technik adapter from a fellow FMer that converts it to an EF mount.
The image quality is outstanding, easily beating my plasic EF 50/1.8 II which cost more(!) than this all-metal beautiy. Image samples
As this is a fully manual lens, stopped down metering is necessary for exposure control on a modern DSLR. However, it's not much of a problem if you shoot in Av mode. Manual focus is a bit hit or miss with the small viewfinder of my XT, but there are 3rd party split prism focussing screens available which I am currently considering.
the other side of the bag - the inside of the bag looks discolored - but what you are seeing is the creases where the plasic wore though a little...(how good would you look after being buried in the ground for 30 years...heh)

Look at front side. Pure art ;)
This is a set of prints that were made from a Kodak FunSaver disposable film camera. There are no settings other than a small flash. The lens is plastic with a fixed aperture and shutter speed. The challenge was to come up with some prints for a Hayling Island Camera Club challenge. The camera film is asa 800 and was processed and printed on 9" x 6" Fujicolor Crystal archive paper..
I scanned the prints in on a Canon MP980 scanner. Only the original prints could be used for the challenge. However these scans have been enhanced and cropped in Lightroom CC.
These are my efforts using a camera that I have very little control of. I have learnt a few lessons and think that I could improve if I was to try again.
The little plasic lens is not the sharpest and there was no focus control.

13billion plastic bags are given free to UK shoppers every year. Waygood Wood will be decorated with these ‘beautiful remnants of consumerism’ dis-entangled from trees and bushes by the artist. The decorated trees will then be promenaded along the busiest shopping street in Newcastle.
Finally built a small DIY lightbox. I went with the simple plasic tub and some work lights. I might try some color corrected florescent bulbs next. The work lights are way to hot. I was afraid it would melt the plastic.

This front side of watches is pretty cool, thats why i love them.
sharp solder points were filed down and the whole arrangement was wrapped in a layer of electrical tape and surrounded by thin sheets of durable plasic to prevent shorts. Then an aluminum sheet wrapped the whole bit to keep it safe and help pinch it into place and keep it there.
Embossing

On Helloween I was a guest at the MOST creepy Halloween party EVER *shiver*
My girlfriend organized a Doll-Halloween-party where some people came together. No not the people were dressed up, their DOLLS were dressed up for Halloween...
The double-horror.. A doll is creepy enough but dolls dressed up for Halloween... So I had a chance again to fight against my doll-phobia.
But I have to confess that Emily is a very thankful model: She can really hold a pose and the smallest softboxbox can turn into a giant softbox easily (not to mention that you can built a set in a shoebox).
For doll interested people here some facts about the creepy little doll:
Emily is a Pullip Dal Joujou modified by replacing her wig and obviously wrapped as mummy ;-)

IChiOne is the longest running drum & bass event with its roots n Amsterdam soil and has been building up a loyal international & national fan base over the last decade. IChiOne is One of the unique pillars of the drum and bass scene, known for its strong ethos, but also for its open mindedness and experimental programming.
Many artists have made their first Amsterdam appearance during IChiOne. Take, for example artists, including Breakage, Ben UFO, Instra: mental, Ramadanman and Shackleton and an abundance of other artists.
Saturday, May the 24th, 2014 IChiOne touches down at Toren to celebrate its 10 year anniversary. Lovers of deep bass and complex rhythms heed the call for this 10th year anniversary, as IChiOne programmed an amazing line up.
This is also the penultimate Saturday in the existence of Toren , the Amsterdam underground club of the moment, will be closing its doors for good the 1st of june .
IChiOne parties are blessed with its tranquil atmosphere and amazingly welcoming, yet earthy hospitality, so feel welcome to be a part of this once in a lifetime experience.
Although IChiOne prefers the underground and resides in the shadows, during this event IChiOne will make the night as bright as day.
