- Messa a fuoco manuale tramite simboli pictografici
Magazine rack 4675, true icon of Kartell, designed in 1971 by Giotto Stoppino and put into production in 1972. Original version with six compartments, in excellent condition, has just a slight yellowing of the plastic.
After hearing all the great things about RF 602 on the net, I got myself a set to play with. If you ever open up the receiver, we would know that the 2 halves of the RX are held together by 2 tiny screws. I still don't trust mounting the speedlites on top of the receiver. Like my other eBay triggers, I like to use 1/8 jacks for connections.
I was going to just replace the 3 pin jack with a 1/8 stereo jack (which is pretty easy to do), but I kind of like the camera remote cable as it is now, maybe for new set I would do that.
So on to drilling a hole and adding a jack at the side. There's plenty of room in between the top and bottom shoes, and the jack can be installed at either side. In fact, if choose the oposive side of what I did, you would gain couple milimeter room, as there are couple of solding spot under the jack that I put in.
As the placement of the hole, if you draw a 'X' between front of hot shoe on top, to the back of the bottom cold shoe, then back of hot shoe to front of the cold shoe. Basically dead center between the 2 shoes and right on the seam where the plasic casings meet.
Choose a 1/8 stereo jack with the tightening nut on the outside would make the installation easier.
For the wiring, I stay the same with the 3 pin jack. Measured with the multimeter, the green wiire on the there pin jack goes to Ground, black wire goes to Tip/Hot, and the red wire goes to Center/Ring.
The Rx connects the green wire to the red wire (grounding the red wire) to make the camera do auto focus on half press, and ground the black wire to fire the flash on full press.
By the way, this trigger set is for Canon camera, other brands' connectors maybe different. If you want use the jack just to fire the off camera flash, you don't need to use the red wire connection at all.
This photo shows my Mac SE/30 mouse (top and bottom plasics) and the spacebar from the Apple IIgs keyboard I use with that Mac. The top of the mouse is yellowed quite a bit, but the spacebar is very yellowed.

Popularly known as ´Chini-Ka-Rauzah´, owing to its glazed-tile decoration. This is the tomb of Shukrullah Shirazi Afzal Khan´, Vazir of Shah Jehan. He hailed from Shiraz (Iran). Abdul Haq Shirazi entitled Amanat Khan´, the celebrated calligrapher who did the monumental inscriptions of the tomb of Akbar (Sikandara) and later of the Taj Mahal, was his brother. Shukrullah was an extremely learned man and a poet who composed under the pen name Állami´. Jehangir bestowed upon him the title: Áfzal Khan´. He was prince Shah Jehan´s diwan, helped him in his campaigns of Mewar and Deccan. After accession, Shah Jehan made him his vazir and gave him the mansab of 7000/4000.
Shukrullah built his tomb in his lifetime (1628-39) and also a palace in the nearby locality called ´Katra Vazir Khan´. He died in 1639 at Lahore. His body was brought to Agra and interned in this tomb. It was a vast complex with high enclosing walls, a four quartered garden (Char Bagh) and a gateway on the eastern side. There also were, on the riverside, two 3-storeyed octagonal towers and a ghat (quay), 64 feet long and 50 feet wide, of stone masonry between them. Now only one tower and the tomb proper have remained. It is a domed square building of 79 feet side. The central octagonal hall has spacious arched portals on the sides and square rooms at the corners, all interconnected by passages. This hall had been exquisitely painted in rich colours with stylized designs. A gallery rotates around its upper part, overlooking it from the first floor. The tomb is roofed by a double-dome. It is all brick masory, which has been plastered over.
The most important feature of this building is the glazed tile work with which its whole exterior is covered and which has given it its present name. The flat mural surfaces is panelled, and stylized floral designs with borders are depicted upon them in a wide variety of colours and shades as blue, yellow, green orange and white. This is mosaic of glazed tiles. The patterns are made up of thousands of tiny pieces of tiles skillfully embedded into the plaster in the tessellated style. Each flower or leaf being presented by a separate tile. The brick surface was first overlaid with a two inch thick coat of plaster, upon which a finer coating of one inch thickness was done. The design was traced upon this upper plaster when in a plasic state, after which tiles 5/8th of an inch thickness were bedded into it, according to the design. Kashan in Persia was the home of this art, the tiles were therefore called ´Kashi´. Halla in Sindh soon became the centre of glazed-ware in India. The potters were known as ´kashigar´ and the art itself became famous as ´kashikari´. The technique of its preparation remained the same. It consisted of three parts: plaster called ´khamir´, glass called ´kanch´ and ásthar´, put between them. It was a very complicated process in which various chemicals, sand stones and other ingredients were used, through an elaborate system of heating and fusing in specially built kilns. This ensured the glazed-tiles and their lustre to last for a thousand years. This is also why this art has died out.
The building has no pillars, lintels, brackets, chhajjas, chhatris or any other indigenous element. There are no jalis or relief stone carving and is has only a flat mural surface. Prepared by the architect for the display of ´kashikari´ by the ´kashigar´. Chini-Ka-Rauzah, the tomb of a polished and cultured Iranian, who served India as an Iranian monument standing on the Indian soil. In its class it ranks among the best. While such representative buildings as the picture wall of the Lahore Fort (1612-19), Wazir Khan´s Mosque (1634) and Asaf Khan´s Tomb (1641-45) are at Lahore, it is the only specimen of this marvellous Iranian art at Agra and in the Braja region. It marks the climax of Iranian influence on Mughal court, culture and art.
The first couple of times we went to Brush Park we missed Winder Street and some really neat buildings. The third trip we found this one, among other houses in a state of suspended repair. Unfortunately, the only shot I have of the front was taken in the rain. Many other views of this place on the net always show it with it's cornice wrapped in shredding plasic. Looks like a place with still lots of potential. I guess it's better to go through a decade looking like a Christo art piece than to spend the rest of your life devoid of all those gorgeous brackets and stuff!
UPDATE, GONE!!

Maybe one day in the not so distant future plasic surgeons will be implanting mobile phones to our ear of choice.
The other ear can be enlarged for an improved signal and we can pinch our nose to hang up. I think the first plastic surgeon to offer this service will be a very wealthy man/woman..

My new (used) Christmas lens!
I've been needing a lens in portrait length for 4x5 for quite a while. The Rodenstock Sironar-N 210mm f/5.6 fits the bill nicely!
My new years resolution is to consolidate my gear and this was a 1st step. I'm going to sell off all of my cameras that sit on a shelf. I'll use the sale $ to finish off the kits that I use most often. Tachihara 4x5, Hasselblad and Canon EOS system.
I'll keep the toys as well, like the Brownie Hawkeye and the plasic cameras because they're not actually worth anything, plus they're so different, it's worth keeping them.
Tech for the shot: (strobist info) Black paper from Michaels, 2 White Lightning strobes, large softbox left and small fill umbrella right.

Day 166
Did you know that the Palace of Versailles is haunted by one of France’s most famous queens?
Beheaded during the French Revolution, Marie Antoinette now roams her palace - there have been numerous reported sightings of her ghost wandering the gardens or in her royal bedchamber.
After trimming off the stems, I laid a bunch of the leaves in a ring, and stitched them to a piece of twill tape. Whenever possible, I tried to stitch just to the plasic veins on the backs of the leaves. But there were places where I had to stitch to the leaf fabric. So I just took the tiniest stiches I could…
