This is one of the early SON20R hubs, which were later renamed SONDelux; I built it up, then Rich Lesnik tensioned and trued it while he was building another wheel for me. ~ 500 miles max; the blue tint you see is the factory plasic seal.

The HO Groberg Abandoned Mine. Based on the mines in the Great Basin and Upper Mojave Desert in Nevada. All scratchbuilt with the exception of the windows, stovepipe, 55 gallon drums and shiv on the gallows frame. The gallows frame is Evergreen Plasic. The mine rail is Plastruct "T". The mine tailings are original retrieved from the Tonopah Merger Mine dump in Tonopah, Nevada. The ties and scrap wood are from an original tie from the Tonopah and Goldfield Railroad and is approximately 80 years old. The sage brush is Woodlands Scenics course turf and the ground cover is from the Silver Top Mine at the Tonopah Historic Mining Park, Tonopah, Nevada.

Richard Hamilton said Ferry was his best work,Ferry studied under Hamilton at Slade College London.Hamilton re-created Duchamps "Bride stipped bare" and is Ferrys title for the album for this images source. Drawn to the title and the image for re-creation,the image I sourced was a cover wrapped in plasic,the reflections suggest shattered glass after Duchamps piece. Whoa, we are not in Kansas anymore! Big plasic horse in the middle of the sidewalk, in front of a western clothing and boots store, in one of San Diego's country-style towns.

Not only is it a mulch, but it also helps heat the soil in the spring. Which is important when you're growing a 120-day melon.

 

Of course, no mulch is perfect.
