Golden Plains 8

Located about five kilometres West of Silverton, the Mundi Mundi Plains is a truly breathtaking place.

Looking out onto the expansive Mundi Mundi Plains, it's a perfect spot to take in a sunset or picnic.

The view must be seen to be believed. The wide, flat heart of the Australian outback extends seemingly forever. On a clear day the curvature of the earth can be seen.

Of course, a lot of people have seen the area yet may not realise it, spotlighted as it was in the famous crash scene of Mad Max 2. Sharp-eyed explorers can even find old sets from the movie smattered around.

Shot this afternoon in Des Plaines by the Union Pacific Northwest Line tracks. That is a closable road that leads to Northwest Highway (US Rt 14). I have seen it a couple feet higher -- like almost to the bottom of the bridge -- but then again, this is DECEMBER.

Pose 2 of 4 from my 29th birthday party, November 2013.

Each year at my birthday party I have all the attendees pose for a series of photos where everyone makes a faces in response to the same queues; this year was Smiling, Plain, Disgusted, and Surprised.

Plain of Jars - Site 1. The jars now lie amidst thousands of unexploded bombs left behind by the Secret War in Laos in the 1960s. The large quantity of UXOs (unexploded ordnances), in particular cluster munitions, in the area means that only Sites 1, 2 and 3 are open to visitors; the others are considered too dangerous.

"The Plain Tiger" or "Archetypical Danaine of India", is most commonly found butterflies in India, and are common sight in most of the gardens in India. Shot this one when it just landed on "Ageratum High Tide Blue Flower" and was slowly flapping its wings, To make sure it was in action at the time when shot. I managed to push back my finger from shutter-button when it was about to flap its wings wide open.

Captured this at 'Saheliyon-ki-Bari or the Garden of the Maids of Honour' in Udaipur, Rajasthan, India, so called because this charming ornamental garden was a popular relaxing spot, where royal ladies came for a stroll. It is a picturesque garden with well tended extensive lawns, shady walks and beautiful flower beds, with fountains, kiosks, marble elephants and delightful lotus pools.
