The Pixie magazine has a built-in dark slide, operable by a sliding button on the camera back.
Note the frame counter has a row of even numbers at the back and a row of odd numbers at the front: in this way, you advanced the film 1/2 turn of the knob for each frame with no windows or mechanical doodads required.
Pesky Pixies! Got a shot of a fly agaric the other week and it had a large space next to it that was crying out for a beastie of some type. So I overlayed a photo of Bella and tried a wee bit of blending and erasing and low and behold, The pixie hunter! Although she is more adept at catching frogs and cabbage whites :o)
Pixie has derailed on, what was then, the steep slope down from Bryans Loop. From the pictures it would appear that before rerailing commenced the carriages were removed from the train. Whether they were just pulled back to the loop or right back to Stonehenge I can't recall.
According to the LBNGR Archivist, who has checked the Guards' Journals, the most likely date for this incident is 18th July 1976.
Piixe is a Wren class 0-4-0ST, built by Kerr Stuart & Co. in Stoke-on-Trent in 1922 and is their works number 4260

19.1.21... today was a bit manic, I had stuff to record for work and two out of three needed help with their homeschool stuff. And then NS announced no return to schools till mid February at the very earliest. Sigh. I think Pixie felt my pain!

The weather has been terrible lately so I couldn't take photos that would do her justice. She's quite lovely in person since she has soft blush work done on her face. She also features color-changing hair which can be amusing or used to gauge the temperature somehow. =3

Here's my little imp with her new pixie haircut.
She had cut it so short in a few spots that this was pretty much the only option. Now we get to see all of the many changing styles she's going to go through while growing it back out.
This is neither a plant nor a mushroom, though when I was a boy it would have been thought to be a kind of plant. It's a lichen. The cups are about a half-centimeter high.
I was out in the rain and three-degree weather today and saw a lot of these. I thought they were probably Cladonia of some sort, but didn't know which until I asked on a local fungi-discussion page. Pixie cup lichen (C. asahinae), it is.
