40145 roars past Styles Hill on the 'Frome avoider' line with Pathfinder's 'Whistling Pixie' tour on 28 August, 2006. Starting from Ealing Broadway at 07:00, the tour’s destination was Penzance, recorded as only the second time a Class 40 had reached the Cornish terminus.

(Pixie worked with the Cranford Quarry until 1962 when the quarry shut down their railway and had her locked away in a shed. Vicar Rev Teddy Boston www.flickr.com/gp/52219527@N00/2z716n bought her soon after and brought her to work on his Cadeby Light Railway, which he built in the rectory garden

After Rev Boston died in 1986, his widow Audrey continued the operation of the light railway until 2005. Teddy's collection was split up and sold, with Pixie being bought by a private owner associated with the Moseley Railway Trust, who intended on overhauling her.
In July 2019 she was bought by the Richmond Light Railway with the intention to finally finishing her restoration back to operating condition.

Recently, pixie hair cuts have become somewhat of a fashion trend with everyone and anyone with the right and wrong face shapes attempting to recreate such a look.
Cladonia pyxidata - This tiny plant (approx 6mm high) is the product of algae and fungus in a symbiotic relationship. It is said that in the arctic regions they were used as wicks for blubber oil lamps. Lichens in the family Cladoniaceae are a primary food source for reindeer and caribou. The same lichen family is a source of compounds used to create antibiotic cream. A fascinating miniature world.
Cladonia species of lichen, growing in small colonies on moss-covered dry stone walls in Cressbrook Dale, Derbyshire Peak District. Possibly Cladonia asahinae which favours moss.
