Second in new series of digitally produced images that explores the possibility of working with digital pixels much in the same way as a painter moves pigment about on a canvas. As a long-term abstract painter, this was always something I wanted to do but never got around to. Finally being laid out with a case of Covid, I had a lot of time in which to explore this idea. So, much good came out of my own personal illness and lockdown. What better way to heal.
This image is dedicated to my dear old friend and co-creator of the "PANO-Vision" group, Paul Ewing. As Alan Price sang in Lindsay Anderson's film, "O Lucky Man" ... "If you have a friend on whom you think you can rely, you are lucky man" ... I am.

On the Sunday of Open House we made it to One Bishops Square. They made it very easy for people to get around this building with arrows on the wall so you could follow a self-guided tour. The main attraction is the 8 storey tall light installation called Pixel Cloud.
I lay on the floor to get this shot and had waited quite a while for the lights to change colour to this green and yellow.

The Lappet-faced Vulture or Nubian vulture (Torgos tracheliotos) is an Old World vulture belonging to the bird order Accipitriformes. It is the only member of the genus Torgos.
The Lappet-faced vulture is the largest vulture in Africa and dominates other vultures during feeding. It is powerful enough to drive off a jackal. This imposing, broad-winged bird has a large, powerful beak which is capable of tearing the hides, tendons and any other coarse tissue from its prey, which may be too tough for other scavengers. This species is easily recognized due its large size, bare pink head and the fleshy folds of skin, called lappets, on each side of its neck, which give the bird its common name.
Photographed on a early. morning game drive in Maasai Mara Game Reserve, Kenya.

From an APOD text summary
This pretty cosmic cloud lies some 1,500 light-years away, nested securely within the boundaries of the southern constellation Fornax. Recognized as a planetary nebula, it spans about 3 light-years with its shape and colour being reminiscent of a blue robin's egg. NGC 1360 doesn't represent a beginning though. Instead it corresponds to a brief and final phase in the evolution of an aging star. In fact, visible in this image is the central star of NGC 1360 is known to be a binary star system likely consisting of two evolved white dwarf stars, less massive but much hotter than the Sun. Their intense and otherwise invisible ultraviolet radiation has stripped away electrons from the atoms in the surrounding gaseous shroud. The predominant blue-green hue of NGC 1360 seen here is the strong emission produced as electrons recombine with doubly ionized oxygen atoms.
Thanks for looking.

I have a new computer and new screen and I can't find out what am I doing wrong? I'm on Ultra, LOD on max, anisotropic filtering ON, Enable lossy texture ON, Antialiasing on 8x, yet my photos are very pixelated.
