A patch of pine forest hidden in a hollow. Most forest in Pennsylvania is now deciduous second growth. It seems like the plants of the forest floor are also different in the pine forest.

Brosnan Forest is especially significant because 6,000 acres of its longleaf pine habitat shelter 79 family groups of endangered red-cockaded woodpeckers, making it the world’s largest population of these birds on private property under single ownership. It also includes about 800 acres of fields planted in rye, wheat, oats, and clover as food for wildlife, including non-game and game species, and 120 acres of lakes and ponds stocked with bass, bream, and catfish.

El mes pasado fue mi aniversario y el de mi marido también ;-) , así que para celebrarlo nos cogimos un par de días de fiesta en el trabajo y con un fin de semana, juntamos unos días para visitar algún sitio nuevo.

This is part of the 'Paisajes Lunar'. If you want to see this surreal lunar landscape up close, it's a three hour hike through the forest from Vilaflor...or a 30 minute one if you happen to have a 4x4 that can handle a pothole strewn dirt track.

This stream and fall is seen on the way to Wagamon (Vagamon) from Erattupetta. We can see a lot of such small streams and falls when we travel to Wagamon. After the rainy season, almost all of them are lively and gives nice chance to photograph.
Wagamon is a hill top resort near Palai,in Idukki District,Kerala,India.the area is famous for its cool climate. Temperature between 10 and 23 degree Celsius. It is situated 1,100 metres above sea level. Kurisumala monastery is situated there. It is around 33 km from Palai.The area is full of Tea estates.

The Rothiemurchus Estate runs a small camping and caravanning site near Coylumbridge. Caravans are contained in an area towards the front of the site, while tents can be pitched in several areas beneath the pine trees, including on a small island in the River Beanaidh, and as here, on slightly higher ground to the west.
