"When is it Real Or Virtual?"
Natural
Stacie Page
This is a concave mirror at the fun house. A concave mirror, also called converging mirror, is curved inward allowing the mirror a way to focus the light at one point. The position of an object in front of the mirror will determine the type of image formed by the mirror. When an object is placed at the focal point, about two and a half feet away from the mirror, no image will be formed. When an object is placed between the focal point and the mirror the image then appears magnified, upright and virtual. A virtual image is when the three principle light rays travel from the object and form an image that appears to be behind the mirror when in reality the rays never reach that location. This is seen when the girl in the red Elon University sweatshirt is standing a foot away from the mirror and letters appear to be read as a flat mirror would. Once an object moves beyond the focal point, like the girl in the North Face jacket who is about 5 feet away from the mirror, the image then appears inverted, smaller and real.

STEM: ZAHS Physics Class launches rockets
Students from Zama American High School’s Physics Class launched model rockets — they designed and built— into the air at Dewey Park May 25 – 26. Some students’ rockets reached more than 650 feet high before falling back down.
This was a STEM (Science-Technology-Engineering-Math) activity to show students what is learned at school can be applied beyond the classroom. (U.S. Army Photos by Lance D. Davis)

Einstein, that much quoted man - and very much an atheist, despite what too many people on Facebook like to claim.
With this poster, there was always a temptation to arrange the quotation over four lines rather than five and avoid the distinctive valley-shape the words ultimately formed.
It's grown on me though, and I think having four lines would have messed too much with the consistency of the A3 designs overall. What do you think?
A signal generator is attached to a vibrating plate. A string is attached to the vibrating plate and held a distance away. Here we can see the nodes and antinodes on the standing wave formed

These fellows lifted the boat with a lever, and then rolled wet logs (yes, I know) underneath it to reduce friction so they could push said boat further up the shore.
This is a good community outreach from the University of Maryland
