The Malecón (officially Avenida de Maceo) is a broad esplanade, roadway and seawall which stretches for 8 km (5 miles) along the coast in Havana, Cuba, from the mouth of Havana Harbor in Old Havana, along the north side of the Centro Habana neighbourhood, ending in the Vedado neighbourhood.

Diving bell or Tauchglocke – walking to the bell on the first day to welcome it, and on the last day to say goodbye, is part of the ritual that marks the beginning and end of the photo festival Horizonte Zingst every year.

captured in the warm embrace of a summer afternoon at plaça major in palma de mallorca, this candid moment reveals a tourist lost in the world of his phone. the straw hat and relaxed posture speak of a leisurely day, where time slows down, and the pulse of the city fades into the background. the textures of his attire and the quiet focus on his screen contrast with the gentle chaos of the square around him. this photograph encapsulates a serene pause in the midst of a vibrant urban landscape, where modernity meets timeless relaxation.

Shun Hing Restaurant (信興酒樓), which has stood on Kweilin Street of Sham Shui Po for eight decades, recently announced it will be closing its doors by the end of December 2016.

"The Riverview Theater is a neighborhood movie theater in the Howe neighborhood of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Designed by Liebenberg and Kaplan, the theater was built by theater owners Bill and Sidney Volk in 1948. After building a subsequent theater in a new ultramodern, {Streamline Moderne} style, the Volks returned to the Riverview in 1956 and had its lobby area heavily renovated and updated. The Riverview remains one of several surviving single-screen cinemas in the Minneapolis–Saint Paul area and typically shows second-run films for $2. . . . The Riverview's lobby remains largely unchanged from its 1956 renovation.[15][Wikipedia, The Riverview Theatre]."

They keep it simple at the Riverview. From admission to fresh and tasty concessions, 2-bucks. The boxes of candy are the big boxes that you would pay $3.50-4.50 in the multi-plexes. Sure you wait a bit longer for your fave movie to appear at the Riverview, but for two bucks any time of day, unless you are foaming at the mouth to see a movie . . . the wait is worth it.

You also get very comfortable seats and a cheery staff. The theatre is retro ultra modern from lobby to rest rooms and always kept immaculate. I have omitted photos of the restrooms. 😊

Residential and commercial buildings are shrouded by a thick cloud of pollution in Hong Kong.

Mothers Demand Action, a national group advocating in each state for sane firearms control, gathered at the Minnesota State Capitol to support universal background checks.

I have found at such events that the best photo ops are before or after the formal hearing. Roaming the hallways, ducking around a tangle of press tripods, sound staff, legislators, and staff I managed to grab this shot of one of the MDA "Dads" sporting a bit of dry wit that made us guys raised in the 60's legends in our own mind. 😊

From the moment visitors enter the State Theatre, they will travel back in time to the building’s golden age in the 1950s. At the lobby ticket box office, visitors will receive a vintage style movie ticket, which marks the start of their first-person immersive experience. They will then be invited to play a part in the history of State Theatre – from enjoying world-class performances at the Empire Theatre (predecessor of the State Theatre), and discovering the story of “Little Shanghai”, to reminiscing about the popular Chinese and Western movies shown at the State Theatre, and all the heart-wrenching historical footage of the site.

The show at the State Theatre is far from over. Before the State Theatre returns in 2026, Culture for Tomorrow will continue to organise and curate cultural activities, allowing the public a rare chance to relive the precious memories of this Grade I Historic Site.

Since developing a fever on February 3, Siu has not set foot outside her rooftop shanty home, except for once to visit the hospital.

In their 240 square foot home, she and her

husband, his 60-year-old mother, and their

three sons - the youngest of whom is just

eight-months-old - have spent more than two

weeks waiting to be relocated to a government

Covid-19 quarantine facility, Siu told HKFP.

Siu’s family share the only bathroom they have and eat in the same space with each other. “We only took off our masks when it became too exhausting, but you simply cannot tell a three-year-old to wear a mask on all the time,” the 38-year-old mother said.

Siu was working in the cosmetics industry but has been on maternity leave since giving birth to their youngest son. The family’s financial burden then rested solely on her husband, who worked as a private driver but lost his job since the “home quarantine” began.

Siu said they have been burning through their savings as the family had no way of obtaining any income since the Lunar New Year holidays. She also said they were not able to apply for any governmental subsidies as they could not leave. “It feels like we are left to die, do you understand?” she said. (HKFP)

Long queues are formed at community testing centres across the city as workers rush to get tested before some businesses reopen on Thursday.

Officials have said that restaurants can extend dine-in service hours in the evening from Thursday, and premises including gyms, cinemas and massage parlours can reopen that day, but all their staff must be tested every fortnight.

Missing Manila Bay,

Yes everyone, I do miss Manila bay, I have been there a lot of times when I was still working in Metro Manila, during most Sunday mornings, I love to stroll around CPP complex and walk until the end of bay walk, and when I still have the energy, I walked until I reaches neither north or south harbor. During most Friday nights, I love to hangout with friends in malate area and spend the whole hours in CPP grounds, until the next morning comes.

MMMmmm…………really miss those days.

Manila bay may not be a perfectly beautiful site to be, but its one of my favorite site to walk around.

The noise, the pollution, the people and the street foods, all of it are the things I miss to see.
