Hmm, which phaser to take with my costume tomorrow? I know, neither one is screen-accurate for the uniform...

Not far from where we live there is a large terrain, a former factory site, with community garden where lots of people cultivate vegetables, keep chickens and grow flowers. There is also a playground and two small football areas. The local community sometimes has festivals on the terrain, next to the gardens.
In the fall of 2010 or spring of 2011 this will alle be demolished to give way to a place with new homes and a park by 2013. I have mixed feelings about this: we are quite nearby and don't feel like living next to a construction site for the next two years. On the other hand: more housing is what Ghent needs (according to some).
So... we'll see. If it gets too noisy, we'll move.
If you want to know more: the project is "Bruggen naar Rabot - Gasmetersite"

A view of Phase I's most interesting and undoubtedly iconic sight from a window of Phase II's stairwell. A true sight to behold and a total jumble of unorganised structures. I love it (no sarcasm).
An old Electro-Harmonix pedal from the dawn of time that I've owned since shortly after the dawn of time.
When I lived in Rhode Island I bought a little solid-state Electro-Harmonix amp for like $25. It was called a Mike Matthews Dirt Road Special. Nothing much to it. It had a Celestion speaker and a little 25-watt solid-state amp. It also had a built-in Small Stone Phase Shifter. It was actually a really cool little amp and I used it as a practice amp for years. Fell in love with the Small Stone while I had it. It was basically a little sealed speaker box with a few circuit boards and a transformer inside. I don't even recall when or why I sold it. I mean, it was a very basic amp. Just a tone control and a presence control. No overdrive of any kind. But with the Small Stone running on a slow rate it was a very trippy-sounding clean amp. And the Celestion sounded good.
Anyway, long before I got rid of the Dirt Road Special I'd bought this. I'm not sure why nothing seems to sound like it, but I've always really liked the specific sound of the Small Stone. Probably because I got the Dirt Road Special in my early 20's and I got used to the sound of a phaser being the sound of the Small Stone. Or it could be because the Small Stone uses Operational Transconductance Amplifiers instead of regular op-amps like almost all the other phasers out there.
Whatever it is, I've owned a whole bunch of phasers over the years. TC Electronics, Mutron (the Mutron was called a 'Phasor' instead of a 'Phaser'), Boss, Korg...and for some reason this is the one I like most.
Amtrak Phase III NPCU 90222 trails on Lincoln Service 302 coming into Joliet, IL. Nice to see the NPCU on the good-lit end of the train for a change.
Demolition continues at Station Square Mall at Burnaby's Metrotown. The home of Save-On Foods will be gone, two month shy of their opening day's 25th anniversary...
The "south" side of the layout has begun! This section will be next worked on when I've finished building Phase 1, It'll extend the bay platform to 164 studs and the through platforms to 276 studs (ish). It also adds a pop of colour with the flowerbeds and the bus stop sign. I'm considering adding the signals to this section of the layout instead of Phase 4 (station approach) just to add the extra detail but that's a fair bit of wiring I'm still not sure how to do.

Been on vacation the past week and many projects were on my "to do" list. Much was completed and while some didn't get done the one most important was Phase I of the interior of my house, which included painting my living/dining room. The transformation on the inside has started and all I can say is WOW! More photos to come as we just finished about an hour ago and looking forward to taking photos in the morning light before posting on Flickr. BTW, the above photo was taken as my shirt reflected on the switch plate made of brush nickel. I hate those plastic switch plates!

The Android app "Skysafari" was really useful to locate it last days because it's lagging now.
I recently went back to an old series to try out some new ideas I had. The series involves mixtures of different dyes and paints diffusing in water. Here is a new one I liked.
BSCS Primary Phase (Reception): ‘It’s a Baby!’ - “The story is told through the eyes of the busy innkeeper who is disturbed by visitors all through the night, including Mary and Joseph, and, once the baby has been born, the shepherds, kings, angels and other inn guests joining the celebration party.”
