The Crystal Bridge at OKC's Myriad Gardens is all lit up for Christmas. The huge glass arboretum's lighting morphs beautifully through different color phases. Almost like a huge glass kaleidoscope. An ice rink is set up next door. Lots of festivities in downtown OKC.

4529. These 6-inch cruisers of the RN's 7th Cruiser Division were to have a hot time in the first phase of the Battle of Matapan, which opened just after 8 a.m. when they were sighted and came under out-ranging fire from the Italian 8-inch heavy cruisers BOLZANO, TRIESTE, AND TRENTO.
The Italian fire was accurate and their ships were closing until the Allied cruisers replied and ORION began making smoke to attract Admiral Andrew Cunngingham's battle fleet nearby. The Italians broke off at 9 am and they began shadowing the Italian cruisers until they ran into a dangerous encounter with the Italian battleship VITTORI0 VENETO which brought them under 15-inch fire and was threatening to trap them against the full Italian cruiser force. The hard-press Allied cruisers were forced to hide behind a heavy smoke screen until an attack by aircraft from HMS FORMIDABLE caused the battleship to turn away.
Vice Admiral H. Pridham-Wippell's cruisers subsequently shadowed the Italian battleship throughout the day, and the 10,000 ton heavy cruiser POLA was brought to a stop by an attack by FORMIDABLE's aircraft, which were in action once again. Just after 10 that evening POLA'S sister ships ZARA and FIUME, sent to assist her, blundered into the gunsights of the british capital ships HMS WARSPITE and HMS VALIANT, the former hitting the lead Italian cruiser with a full broadside later describe as 'the most devastating salvo of the war.'
The night phase of the battle of Matapan, a disastrous one for the Reggia Marina, had begun.

Serged the edge of the board. Attached the yoke of the back part and applied the first top stitches in multi-colour yarn.

An old Electro-Harmonix pedal from the dawn of time that I've owned since shortly after the dawn of time. I'm pretty sure, going by the pots, that it's a '77.
When I lived in Rhode Island I bought a little solid-state Electro-Harmonix amp for like $25. It was called a Mike Matthews Dirt Road Special. Nothing much to it. It had a Celestion speaker and a little 25-watt solid-state amp. It also had a built-in Small Stone Phase Shifter. It was actually a really cool little amp and I used it as a practice amp for years. Fell in love with the Small Stone while I had it. It was basically a little sealed speaker box with a few circuit boards and a transformer inside. I don't even recall when or why I sold it. I mean, it was a very basic amp. Just a tone control and a presence control. No overdrive of any kind. But with the Small Stone running on a slow rate it was a very trippy-sounding clean amp. And the Celestion sounded good.
Anyway, long before I got rid of the Dirt Road Special I'd bought this. I'm not sure why nothing seems to sound like it, but I've always really liked the specific sound of the Small Stone. Probably because I got the Dirt Road Special in my early 20's and I got used to the sound of a phaser being the sound of the Small Stone. Or it could be because the Small Stone uses Operational Transconductance Amplifiers instead of regular op-amps like almost all the other phasers out there.
Whatever it is, I've owned a whole bunch of phasers over the years. TC Electronics, Mutron (the Mutron was called a 'Phasor' instead of a 'Phaser'), Boss, Korg...and for some reason this is the one I like most.

ESA’s cave training prepares astronauts to work as an international team in real exploration conditions. Sending astronauts underground to survive and explore Sardinian caves in Italy for almost a week is just one element of their long training.
The caves are isolated from the outside world. The astronauts need to get used to confined spaces, minimal privacy, technical challenges and limited equipment and supplies for hygiene and comfort – just like in space.
