And so, here we are after all this time, finally getting to the meat of this trip. Grand Island was really nice, but it turned out to just be an appetizer. The trip's main course was a three-night backpacking jaunt on the most remote -- and, I have to say, absolute best -- of all U.S. national parks, Isle Royale, a 40-mile-long wilderness island situated way up near the north shore of Lake Superior. By all rights, Isle Royale should be Canadian, but for some reason Michigan got to keep it.
Here we are getting ready to hop on the boat in the little town of Copper Harbor at 8:30 in the morning. Which, really, is way too early to get to Copper Harbor. The last time we went to Isle Royale, which was ten years ago, we set out from Chicago after work and drove eight hours to spend exactly two hours in a Houghton hotel. We planned it way better this time and actually got a good night's sleep before setting out, but we still felt a little more rushed than I prefer. Getting to Isle Royale is hard.

My MXR Phase 90 that I've had since 1973 or 1974. It was used to play Rhodes through in its early years and has spent most of the last 20 years or so in my home studio. I've discovered that it's a desirable item and am learning more about it. It is totally original, always worked, and never been in for any kind of service. The original BUD case indicates that it is one of the earliest models produced. Even though the internal foam pad liner has deteriorated, I've left it in place. The back of the case has some scratches due to sitting on top of the Rhodes and being moved around a bit, but overall the case is in excellent condition.
The Enterprise away team was beamed directly into this prepared position on top of the hill. They took firing positions around the ring, all facing outward, as the attackers charged up the hill from all directions. They fired their type 3 phaser rifles until exhausting three to four batteries each, and two of them melted the firing chambers, turning the rifles into scrap. But they prevailed and suffered only one casualty, while the hill below was littered with alien corpses. So much for the Prime Directive!

After laying out the pages in a tentative arrangement, I began duct-taping the pages together to create one solid sheet. However, I ended up running out of duct tape in the process of taping it in a gridded fashion. I still had some packaging tape, so I decided to use that to bond the rest of the torn papers together. I started to spread out the three origami that I made (pinwheels, water birds, and bunny heads) as if they were patterns on a quilt. I had to make extras by taking pieces of the large sheet and transforming them into the decorations.

7. The gold bull market is currently in stage 2 of the typical 3 stages. The third phase typically is a mania; we know for sure that we aren’t there yet … so now is the time to position yourself by accumulating gold and silver.
At the end of the autumn term, parents and carers of phase two children were invited to see work produced for the Winter exhibition. Year three presented their responses to the climate crisis; year four produced a museum exhibition showcasing their investigations into ancient Egypt; year five showed off vehicles produced as part of their 'How high, how far, how fast?’ project; year six took up residency in The Clipper on Union Street to respond to the question: ‘What does community mean to us?’ This fantastic event was really well attended and the children really enjoyed showing off the results of their learning through the term. A big thank you to all involved!
I was going through iPhoto and decided I really like this picture for some reason. It's not a very good picture or anything, so I don't know why. Oh well. Here it is for you!
