I built one for Cherokee Bunn from The Brides of Dr. Funkenstein with red LEDs because that's what the originals had. I built this one with a yellow LED for the On/Off indicator because I pretty much always use yellow for that. Some trippy thing I saw in my head one night where the sun came on to tell me I was ready to jam. Anyway, I used a groovy purple LED for the rate indicator because I thought that would look cool pulsing in time with the LFO. Except I can barely see it flashing. I'm like, "Is it really dim or am I almost blind in that range?" Yeah, it's me. My spot meter tells me those two LEDs are very close to the same brightness, but old people start losing vision down in the low-end right above UV and that gradually moves up into the blues until it's hard for older people to see variations in purples and blues. And that's me. So yeah, I guess it's time to ditch the blue and purple LEDs, 'cause I can't really see 'em very well.
