PS Phantom was the first regular Manly ferry. She was built in Melbourne in 1859 and steamed to Sydney in May that year. She started the Manly ferry tradition of double-ended design and white funnels with a black top. She also had a dark green hull however the other vessels had black hulls until the bottle green colour was introduced with Dee Why and Curl Curl in 1928.
The white funnel with black tip appeared on all Manly ferries until the 1990's. As steamer funnels tended to be originally all black to hide the soot stains, I would speculate that white funnels (with just black tops to hide the soot) were a early visibility device, particularly for fowl weather or large sea swells.
The two storey stone building in the centre of the photo is Customs House at Semi Circular Quay in its original form (some of these walls remain today within a much-expanded Customs House), and the warehouses at the far right of this picture still stand, now restaurants.
This is a completed commission for midwinterwriter, who asked me to re-create the 'Mirror' nightgown ensemble worn by Emmy Rossum in the 2004 'Phantom of the Opera' movie.
Here you can see the three undergarments, including a sheer, lace camisole with broderie anglaise, a lace split skirt with muslin underskirt, and a lightly teastained, spiral boned, satin corset with gold clasps and peach lining.
There is also a long, trained muslin robe to be worn over the top, which you can find elsewhere in this my photostream :)
The last Phantom piece I collected is one of my favorites: a very large Indian movie poster from the 1940s advertising the serial "The Phantom" with Tom Tyler.
This crudely illustrated rendition of the Phantom has him wearing some kind of helmet with a chinstrap instead of his trademark hood; a pair of loose boxer shorts instead of his usual leather briefs; and bare legs when he should be wearing purple tights. In the upper left you can see "POPULAR PICTURES present", which is probably grammatically correct in Hindi.
Crude. But I love crude.

The glorious Rolls Royce Phantom. This car is a wonder to behold. Every detail is masterfully designed. Special thanks to Collection Motorsports in North Olmsted Ohio, for allowing me to leave snow footprints on their floor. (not in the car mind you) Next time I'll bring slippers. :)
First attempt at a night shot and it didn't go as well as planned. Lession learned is to pick a much quieter time, like perhaps midnight, because in the space of 5 minutes I had 2 dog walkers and an entire troop of women jogging across this bridge - hence the "phantoms" :-)
This is all uncharted territory. I just found out that the maximum exposure time on this camera of mine appears to be 30 seconds. After that it goes into "bulb" mode which I vaguely remember from the manual is a manual open / close mode. How you get an accurate exposure in that mode is something I'm going to have to look into. I imagine using an ND10 is going to present the same issues. I'll take the engineering approach of ditching the manual and start playing :-)

Spartan xxx "Phantom": Former Spartan who gone awal joining with the Insurrectionists. After he was seen unfit for duty. Not able to come to grip with the reality of things. He defected from the UNSC and made his way into the hands of Innie forces who gladly excepted him. Wanted for treason and the murder of various Military personal. Target is very dangerous and unstable. Being a Spartan II makes him top priority.
Made from a EVA with CQB shoulders, the Helm is a EVA variant.

With only the crew (And a runway) missing, McDonnell-Douglas FGR-2 (F-4M-35-MC) Phantom XV424 looks very purposeful and ready for action at the RAF Museum Hendon. With a full range of stores, crew access ladder and cockpit open, the aircraft is certainly creates one of the best displays at the museum.
Looking lovely in 56 Squadron markings including the Firebird crest on the nose, the aircraft looks like it has just rolled in to the museum, despite having been at Hendon since 12th November 1992, following the disbandment of 56 Squadron and transportation from RAF Wattisham. The airframe had a total of 5058.40 flying hours and made its last operational sortie on 13th July 1992.
